Below is our recent interview with David Collett, Co-Founder and CEO at Moringa Wellness:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Moringa Wellness?
A: In using scientific food formulations, botanical extracts native to South Africa, Moringa Wellness has developed a range of tasty, healthy consumer food, beverages, animal husbandry and pharmaceutical products.
Q: Tell us more about your products. Where and how do you manufacture them?
A: All products are manufactured in South Africa under the highest practices of Organic Certification, HACCP, Biotrade permit, FDA registration, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), FSSC/ISO22000, GLOBALGAP and Good Agricultural Practices.
· Moringa Leaf Capsules/Moringa Leaf Powder/Moringa Leaf Seeds: Moringa leaf powder is a highly nutritious food supplement made from the leaves of the Moringa tree. This ‘green super-food’ is 100 percent natural and contains no additives or preservatives. Containing over 92 nutrients, 46 antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatory compounds, Moringa oleifera is one of nature’s most nutritious foods ideal for helping our bodies maintain optimum health.
· Nut-free Peanut Butter Spread is a secret ingredient formulation packed with natural health and goodness to mimic the taste, flavor and sensation of peanut butter without the peanuts.
· Nut-free Chocolate and Hazelnut Spread is a naturally flavored nut-free hazelnut spread without nuts. A wonderful snack on the go, for breakfast and for the kids.
· Moringa Tea contains dried Moringa leaves that are blended with Rooibos, Honeybush and Rosehip to prepare a range of healthy, high antioxidant teas. These teas are brewed in hot water as per conventional teas and can be consumed hot or cold.
· Energy Bars are a high source of nutrients, carbohydrates, fibre and energy. They contain vitamin C, low sodium, calcium, iron and Moringex. There is no added cane sugar, naturally sweetened with fruit. It’s preservative-free.
· Fruit Bars contain dried fruit combined with cereal, organic honey and moringa extract. Containing Honeybush tea Rosehip and spirulina, which are a tremendous source of nutrients. They are a tasty on-the-go treat or a healthy addition to children’s lunch boxes. No added sugar.
· Muffin Mix is a great alternative to sugar-loaded confectionary products, with a great nutritional boost added. Just add oil and water and bake. These muffins are fortified with Moringa and a variety of vitamins. The mix contains spray dried egg powder as secret ingredient.

Q: I read something about your expansion in the American market; could you tell us something more?
A: Moringa Wellness is launching with its highly experienced distributor, Nutritional Products International. In addition, we are launching several world firsts from a soft gel Moringex capsule to a high performance sports gel with natural testosterone enhancer. The company will be attending several trade shows and exhibitions to further launch the company.
Q: How do you differentiate yourself?
A: Moringa Wellness differentiates itself by using scientific food formulations, botanical extracts native to South Africa and its registered Moringex. Moringex is a water-soluble and fast-absorbing ingredient that’s included into the formula of each Moringa Wellness product, providing consumers with all the nutrients from the Moringa leaf including protein, vitamins B6, C, A, iron, riboflavin (B2) and Magnesium. Moringex is also rich in antioxidants like quercetin and chlorogenic acid; lowers blood sugar levels, reduces inflammation, lowers cholesterol and protects against Arsenic toxicity.

Q: What does the future hold? Where is the company headed?
