Mosaic Raises $18 Million In Series A Funding Round

Listen to this article

Mosaic, a New York-based AI platform for private market deal modeling, raised $18 million in Series A funding led by Radical Ventures. The capital will fuel product expansion, team growth from 16 to over 40 employees, and entry into investment banking and private credit, while new board members bring deep AI and private equity expertise.

Mosaic, a New York-based AI driven deal modeling platform for private markets, announced that it raised $18 million in a Series A funding round led by Radical Ventures. The round positions Mosaic to expand its deterministic AI platform, which automates complex financial models such as leveraged buyouts (LBOs), discounted cash flows (DCFs), and operating models. It ingests data from confidential information memorandums (CIMs), screenshots, or other documents, applying rules based math combined with AI for accurate, auditable outputs that aim to deliver results up to 20 times faster than traditional spreadsheet methods while minimizing errors.

How will Mosaic use the funds?

The capital will support several initiatives:

  • Deepening product capabilities across private equity workflows.
  • Accelerating entry into adjacent sectors, including investment banking and private credit.
  • Scaling the team significantly, with headcount planned to grow from the current 16 employees to over 40 by the end of 2026, with emphasis on engineering, product development, customer enablement, and go to market functions.

Mosaic also introduced features like Mosaic Autopilot, an agentic tool that allows users to email prompts with source documents and receive a completed model in approximately five minutes.

Radical Ventures, an AI focused firm managing approximately $1.8 billion in assets, led the round. The investment includes board additions: Ryan Shannon (Partner at Radical Ventures, formerly of TPG) and Troy Pospisil (Founder/CEO of Ontra.ai). John Megrue (Vice Chair at Radical, former CEO of Apax) joins as a strategic advisor. These appointments bring expertise from AI investing and private equity operations.

What is Mosaic?

Mosaic targets deal teams at private equity firms and investment banks managing over $1 trillion in assets under management. It positions itself as an operating system for deal makers by combining speed, accuracy, and auditability in an area traditionally dominated by manual Excel based processes. The platform emphasizes “deterministic” outputs, ensuring models remain transparent and verifiable rather than purely probabilistic black box AI.

This Series A follows earlier funding and reflects growing investor interest in AI tools that address pain points in private markets, where deal volume and complexity continue to rise. The backing from Radical Ventures underscores confidence in Mosaic’s technical approach to financial modeling automation.

The announcement highlights Mosaic’s ambition to evolve from a specialized modeling tool into a broader platform spanning multiple investing workflows and asset classes.
