Q: You’ve recently announced the launch of Clinicoin; could you tell us something more?
A: Clinicoin, a “superapp” platform, is the first blockchain platform focused on building a global health and wellness community. The platform gives users the necessary mobile tools to help them manage their lives and lead healthy lifestyles, and incentivizes these behaviors to make exercise and mindfulness activities fun.
Clinicoin rewards users with its in-app cryptocurrency, CLIN tokens, for engaging in healthy activities via an open source platform. Leveraged by a blockchain-based ecosystem, the platform is designed to connect people, developers and providers, worldwide, improving global health, wellness and research.
Mosio opened a CLIN token sale on February 21 with 3 billion CLIN tokens minted, 600 million reserved for rewarding healthy activities. The Clinicoin token sale will close at 6pm PDT on March 20, 2018 (1am GMT, March 21, 2018). Everyone contributing in the token discount sale will have access to all early buying bonus discounts, with no pre-sales, whitelists or minimums. Once the hard cap is met, an additional 200 million CLIN tokens will be unlocked during the sale, with proceeds donated to global children’s health charities.

A: Since 2011, Mosio’s mobile software platform has enabled clinical trial sponsors, CROs and NIH-funded studies to communicate efficiently with study subjects in an efficient, cost-effective way. Mosio aims to make mobile technology simple for clients and end users, creating applications that increase patient engagement and improve study adherence requirements through two-way mobile messaging communications, alerts, incentives and surveys.
Q: Can you give us insights into Clinicoin’s features?
A: Clinicoin offers its users a variety of features including:
• Rewards Engine – Enables the distribution of Clinicoin (CLIN) tokens among community members. They can be used for completing healthy tasks, incentivizing adherence or participating in medical research.
• Proof of Engagement (PoE) – The confirmation of healthy activities connected to the Clinicoin platform by two different types of Validators (health app developers and activity leaders). Similar to mining other cryptocurrencies, users earn CLIN tokens for participating in healthy activities and Validators earn tokens for confirming those behaviors.
• Secure Messaging – Uses end-to-end encryption, enabling users to interact securely with each other, organizations, researchers and digital tools, keeping them on track with their health and wellness goals in compliance with HIPAA privacy and security guidelines.
• Health and Wellness Marketplace – Where Clinicoin members spend their CLIN tokens for access to tools, content, products and services. The marketplace will be powered by Mosio and soon move to a decentralized model.
• Educational tools – Users can access digital tools and explore resources and updates about fitness and nutrition to educate themselves with the latest information about staying healthy.

Q: Please tell us something about the technology behind Clinicoin?
A: Clinicoin comprises three different systems integrated to provide an automated end-to-end solution interacting with the Ethereum blockchain: a native application with End to End Encryption Messaging (E2EE), a Transaction Processing System (TPS), and an Automated Smart Contract System (RPC).
Clinicoin’s native application is an asynchronous mobile messaging application which utilizes the open whisper system (OWS), which is the leading end-to-end encryption messaging system in the industry. OWS provides users with secure channels of communication which are encrypted, while offering the additional compliance requirements for healthcare (HIPAA) and clinical trials (21 CFR 11).
Clinicoin uses the Transaction Processing System (TPS) to handle events related to all transactions (Token Distribution Events, Licenses, etc.) on the platform. The system is built to optimize concurrency in its distributed client/ server system. This architecture allows Clinicoin’s application to perform transactions without being subjected to any geographical constraints while at the same time allowing instantaneous transactions to take place on its application with low latency and high volumes.
Q: Where do you see Clinicoin in the future?
A: The Clinicoin marketplace will start off centralized with the goal of decentralization, offering an easy way for buyers and sellers to connect to exchange CLIN for goods, services, and access to enhanced experiences on the platform.
We see great potential for Clinicoin to get people more involved in their health and wellness by enhancing secure patient-to-provider communication, driving dramatic increases in engagement and providing digital tools to keep them healthy.
