Our dedicated vision is to enable restaurateurs success through the increase of efficiency and revenue by connecting the POS to new evolving digital services. Q: Can you give us more insights into your solutions?

A: orderbird is a POS software in the form of an app for Apple mobile devices such as iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone. With orderbird waiters take orders directly at the table and send them wirelessly to the kitchen or the tap. Restaurateurs can easily accept cashless-payments, offer a secure guest WiFi or access their inventory management and purchasing system in real time. We also provide easy reporting and export functions with real-time data. Just one click and the compliant report for the auditors is ready – and the data export for the accountant, too.

Our iPad POS system is so simple and easy to use that training time for new employees takes only a few minutes. Ordering via mobile devices helps reduce the amount of back and forth time and labor costs. Mobile ordering increases the service level and sales volume up to 20%. Q: You’ve recently announced a $22.8 million series C funding round; what are your plans?

A: We will invest in product development and further expansion in Europe with a roll out in the French market already this year. France is one of the most attractive markets in the world and leader within the field of culinary & gastronomy. The French gastronomy business makes the first steps within the digitalization – new solutions are introduced and adopted. This situation is very similar compared with German speaking markets. From our point of view the potential is huge and we are very excited that the METRO Group shares our ambitions and vision. Our objective is to become one of the leading cashier systems in Europe. The market entry in France is an an essential move in this direction.
