Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to ProHabits?

A: ProHabits is a platform designed to maximize desired behaviors in the workplace through little two-minute actions we call ‘MicroActions’. Each morning, users receive a message asking them to commit to one of these MicroActions and, at the end of the day, they receive a second asking if they did it.

Q: How exactly does your platform work? What does it take to get started?

A: Our platform requires no sign-ins, passwords, or account creation. We send users an email or text with a magic link and voila they’re on their dashboard. On it, they can commit to activities, see what their coworkers are doing, and share stories to a public feed about their experience.

Q: Why leadership development? Why is it important for any company out there?

A: We believe that by targeting leadership development we can have the biggest possible impact within organizations. Research backs this up. According to Gallup, 70% of the variance in employee experience comes down to the manager. Ultimately, what we’re trying to do is catalyze movements within organizations: we’re trying to be that daily spark of inspiration that re-aligns people while motivating personal and professional growth.

Q: What should a leadership development program include?

A: Daily reinforcement.

Traditionally, leadership development only includes what I call a ‘moment of elevation’. A moment of elevation is something like a workshop, seminar, townhall, or motivational speaker. These inspiring moments are crucial for change, but, if left alone, people will revert back to their old habits once the daily grind sets back in.

So what’s essential for an effective leadership development program is a way to reinforce the lessons from a moment of elevation. This is precisely what the ProHabits platform achieves.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: Our vision continues to evolve, but right now we’re excited to announce that we will be adding further elements of gamification to the platform. Specifically, this will include badges for a range of achievements. Achievements like streak milestones, completing activities, and sharing stories on the platform.
