Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to reevert?
A: As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), we noticed that many businesses struggled with safeguarding their data. reevert was created in order to be a cost-effective solution to SMB’s data protection needs. Unlike traditional backup methods which can take hours or days to restore data, reevert was designed to work quickly and efficiently to prevent unnecessary downtime.
Q: Why is now the time for a technology solution like reevert?
A: With cybercriminals finding new ways of compromising corporate networks and holding their data for ransom, it’s more important than ever to have a secure file storage and backup solution that can provide local and cloud data protection.
Ransomware alone has surged from $395 Million in 2015, to an estimated $5 Billion dollar a year industry today. With emerging trends such as Ransomware as a Service (RaaS) and Destruct-ware, companies and organizations are vulnerable to cybercrimes that could potentially mean shutting the doors temporarily – or in drastic cases, permanently.
These cybercrimes have made the need for a solid data protection policy even more important than before, requiring businesses to have up-to-date backups of not just their data, but also images of their servers and important computers on the network, or laptops belonging to key executives and staff.
reevert’s hybrid model allows businesses to have instant access to recovering their business files and servers in order to quickly restore business productivity from the local backups and snapshots.
In the extreme case of a total disaster, all server images and files are backed up to a trusted cloud provider to ensure quick recovery and business continuity.

Q: Which cloud storage providers do you support?
A: Our goal was to give our users freedom of choice when it comes to selecting a storage provider to store their off-site backups. There are two types of storage providers that we support:
· Cloud Storage Providers: These include Amazon S3, Wasabi Hot Storage, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud, Dream Objects, PCExtreme and Outscale.
· On-Prem, Multi-Cloud and Hybrid Cloud Provides: These include Scality, Minio, Zenko.io, Cloudian, RiakS2, LeoFS and Ceph.
We are working to add even more providers in the future!
Q: Could you give us insights into your features?
A: reevert was designed with quick recovery in mind. Unlike traditional backup solutions, reevert is designed to get you back on track in a matter of seconds and minutes versus hours and days. This is possible via reevert’s file system rollback feature. Since reevert takes hourly snapshots of your data, this gives you the option to recover data from a specific snapshot or rollback the entire file system to a certain point in time.
With that being said, here is a list of the most important features of reevert:
· Fast and Efficient Hourly block level data snapshots with compression.
· Ability to perform On-Demand data snapshots when needed.
· Bulletproof backups. Unlike traditional backup solutions, malware and ransomware cannot destroy your backups.
· Extremely fast restores when it comes to restoring local data.
· Easy to use Web-UI to manage the appliance and to perform daily operations.
· Ability to back up/restore files and folders from/to remote computers.
· Ability to create full and differential image backups of remote computers.
· Ability to mount image backups as virtual drives to recover files/folders if needed.
· Ability to back up any kind of CIFS/SMB compatible storage device such as network shares or NAS devices.
· Active Directory integration for authentication and file-system security.
· Ability to perform manual and automatic cloud data replication and off-site backups to several different storage providers.
· Quick Restores provide the ability to restore any file/folder to local data stores or remote computers from within the appliance. It also supports a built-in search if a user is not sure where a lost file/folder was located.
· User Rights Console is one of the perks that comes with Active Directory integration and lets admins perform user rights changes and assignments, file/folder ownership modification operations and more from within their appliance, with a few clicks!
· Built-in monitoring, notification and reporting systems to maintain the system health and to notify admins when important events happen, all for a hassle-free administration experience.
· Ability to perform in-place data storage expansions. No downtime, no hassle.
· Flexible deployments. Our users have the choice to deploy virtual appliances in their virtualization platforms or lease our hardware appliances.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: We are continuously working to make reevert better and better. Here is a list of our high priority future features:
· Expanding our hardware offerings by introducing new models and flexible storage options, including the ability to utilize iSCSi targets.
· Built-in intelligence. We are working on making different modules of our firmware more intelligent. Our goal is to ease the job of System Administrators by having reevert make certain decisions for them. Overall, the goal for reevert has always been to have a self-sustainable system.
· We are about to launch our partner portal to give the MSPs the ability to become partners and offer reevert to their customer base.
· We are planning to add support for even more online and cloud storage providers.
