Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: RIoT Secure has a fascinating story behind its inception and growth. Most people may not know that the company was born out of a series of blog posts by its founder, Aaron Ardiri. During the Christmas holidays in 2016, Ardiri decided to write about a secure communication protocol for IoT devices. These posts resonated with the industry, highlighting the need for such a solution, and ultimately laid the groundwork for RIoT Secure.

What’s even more impressive is that RIoT Secure is completely self-funded, having received no external investment. The company has managed to develop and commercialize its innovative platform solely through the dedication and passion of its founders and team members. This is a testament to their commitment to delivering a top-notch IoT security solution for their customers.

While the initial proof of concept and demo provided a solid starting point, RIoT Secure’s participation in the EU funding project proved to be a turning point for the company. This support helped transform the initial concept into a commercially viable product, allowing RIoT Secure to make a significant impact on the IoT industry.

The story of RIoT Secure’s development also has a unique aspect that showcases the determination and resourcefulness of its founder. Aaron Ardiri worked tirelessly on the platform’s foundations in his home garage in Western Australia. During this time, he collaborated with a backpacker from Chile he recruited from Facebook, and together they spent many late nights working on the project. They bonded over music and drank copious amounts of beer, which fueled their creative process and ultimately led to the creation of the innovative platform that RIoT Secure is known for today.

RIoT Secure developed its solution with a focus on doing things right, with secure by design principles in mind – in fact, the company has not been known to the industry for this reason alone, we wanted to ensure that we had a product ready for the market before we did any mass media outreach.
