SeamlessDocs empowers governments to go paperless and deliver better online services. Below is our recent interview with Jonathon Ende, CEO at SeamlessDocs:


Q: You’ve recently announced $7.5m in Series D round; could you tell us something more?

A: We just announced a $7.5m raise in Series B funding, increasing total raised capital to over $18.5 million. This round of funding is a great signal of increasing investor interest in government innovation and will allow us to continue pioneering the future of not just government forms, but how governments process forms.

Q: Tell us something more about your form automation platform?

A: Our form automation platform transforms PDF & paper forms processes into cloud based versions that citizens can eSign and submit from any browser or device. These forms are ADA & 508 compliant, and allow for online payments and attachments. To date, hundreds of governments use SeamlessDocs, providing millions of citizens with access to digital forms. By enabling a paperless government form experience, SeamlessDocs propels the vision that Government is Beautiful and allows constituents and employees to interact with their government in ways they never thought possible.

Q: Why is now the time for a technology solution like SeamlessDocs?

A: Governments have never been more ready to innovate. When we first started selling our form solution to government in 2011, the concept of the “cloud” was foreign to most, and reliance on legacy processes was commonplace. Since then, government has come a long way. Now, governments not only understand and embrace the cloud but they have become more aware of best practices in the field. They are finally demanding results that their traditional legacy methods have failed to provide. This eagerness to innovate within the government space has driven us to create elegant, seamless technology solutions for governments nationwide.

Q: How exactly does SeamlessPay solution work?

A: SeamlessPay is the easiest and fastest way for governments to accept payments online without incurring a processing fee. All fees are passed onto the citizen which is actually key because in many states it is illegal for the government to incur a processing fee. Within the SeamlessDocs platform, a government can activate SeamlessPay in just a few clicks to seamlessly integrate and collect payments in a form. If there are a number of fees within the form, SeamlessDocs automatically calculates these fees to generate the full amount owed via SeamlessPay. When an end user fills out this form, they merely enter their credit or debit card information at the end of the form, and payment is complete upon submission of the form.

Q: What are your plans for 2018?

A: 2018 will be a year of solidification. We will be investing in solidifying our technological infrastructure and expanding the functionality of our platform, while maintaining the highest levels of security and exceeding accessibility standards. While we are already working with hundreds of local governments, we want to get deeper involved at the State level who have tens of thousands of PDF forms! With this most recent round of funding, we are now pushing into these larger markets and improving our technology to best suit them. This will ensuring that regardless if you are a small town or a huge State, everyone will be able to provide beautiful and seamless online services to their constituents.
