Below is our recent interview with Pavithra Krishnamurthy, CMO at SenseHawk:
Q: What is SenseHawk?
A: SenseHawk is an early-stage California-based developer of software-based management tools for the solar energy generation industry with operations in the United States, the UAE and India. SenseHawk’s Software Digitization Platform (SDP) SaaS helps with process optimization, automation, and asset information management. The SDP enables yield improvement, defect identification, progress monitoring, productivity enhancement, cost reduction, collaboration, and data management throughout the solar lifecycle. From development and construction, through operations and maintenance, SenseHawk software has been deployed on 600+ solar sites worldwide.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We are delighted to be a part of the RIL family. RIL has a vision to operationalize 100GW of solar energy by 2030. In collaboration with SenseHawk, RIL will drive down costs, enhance productivity and improve on-time performance to deliver the lowest LCoE for solar projects globally and make solar energy the go-to source of power in lockstep with their vision for solar energy. It is a very exciting time for SenseHawk, and we are sure that with RIL’s support, SenseHawk will grow multifold.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Since 2018, we have helped 100+ customers in over 20 countries adopt new technology to manage 600+ sites and assets. This investment helps us take our mission to help companies in Solar Energy streamline their processes, enhance asset performance, and improve their teams’ productivity further.
Built around our proprietary Asset information Model, our approach to digital transformation enables intelligent action to help manage and optimize the entire asset lifecycle. SDP integrates geospatial data, sensor data from drones, SCADA systems and others, and workflows to create a single source of truth.
Listing the features of the SenseHawk Solar Digital Platform:
Asset Information Model (AIM)
A system model of all onsite components and their relationships with each other, the AIM enables intelligent action to manage and optimize the entire asset lifecycle. Think of AIM as the nerve center for all SenseHawk SDP features and how they play with each other.
Know
In apt justification for its name, Know offers actionable insights for planning your site, integrating layered inputs from different sources including SRTM, ALTA, LiDAR, drone surveys, and more. Leveraging the in-built GIS backbone on the SDP, Know enables location specific views and data, reducing plan times.
Build
Access plans, drawings, documents, warranties, and on-site tasks and reports at every stage of your solar site build. Let teams report progress from the field, track it against schedules, manage crews, materials and processes on the site, create workflows for inspections, quality control, punchlists and more, and map it all to monitoring info—all from a single screen.
Work
Combining Forms, Tasks, Checklists, and Workflows, Work tracks teams and members and keeps them informed of their schedule. A field worker-friendly mobile app with in-built map views and details from the AIM makes Work the only end-to-end feature you will need to manage work.
Collab
Enabling modern communication both at your desk and on the SenseHawk mobile app, Collab helps teams get just-in-time information, seek authorizations, and find plans and documents they need to get their job done. Throw in configurable real-time push updates, and keeping your teams in the know doesn’t get any better.
Detect
Detect helps you identify defects and anomalies from sensor-driven reports including drone scans, automatically create mitigating tasks, assign them to team members, and trigger workflows to resolve and close them.
Development, Engineering, Construction, Quality, Procurement, and O&M teams operate on a single asset-centric software platform to eliminate data silos, enabling cost efficiency and enhanced asset performance.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: We will continue to build out features that are on our product roadmap, to provide an end-to-end asset-centric platform that helps companies thorughtout the solar lifecycle optimize their processes, effectively leverage automation, and improve asset information management.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: One thing that people may not know about us is that we deliver software for enterprise clients. We’ve consistently punched above our weight class, and out persistence, resilience and resourcefulness as a team has stood us in good stead over the years, paving the way for this relationship with RIL.
