San Francisco based startup Snapcard offers the fast and easy way for merchants to start accepting digital currencies. Snapcard puts a core focus on feedback and users, to help shape the product and future of digital currencies and how they interact between buyer and merchant. Here is our interview with Phillip Kim from Snapcard team:
Q: Snapcard was founded in 2013, could you tell us Snapcard story?
A: SNAPCARD launched in November 2013 as a bookmarklet that enabled users to pay with Bitcoin on any website. We processed $2 million in transactions over the next year and noticed that the real benefit to digital currency is when merchants integrated it natively into their websites. So we shifted our focus to helping merchants accept digital currencies natively, so that customers wouldn’t need a tool like our bookmarklet to shop at their favorite places.

Q: Snapcard enables businesses to accept digital currency payments through website’s checkout, what are main benefits for brands/businesses?
A: SNAPCARD is the easiest way to start accepting digital currencies like Bitcoin. Doing so opens your business to new customers who are looking for places to spend their digital currencies, and it also brands your business as an early adopter of an exciting technology that is growing rapidly around the world. Digital currency payments are significantly cheaper and faster to process than credit card payments, so the fees are much lower. For those reasons, they’re a great supplement to your existing payment methods.
