With this fan involvement though, in return, it provides the artist with an active list of fans and their geographic locations. Q: What geographic markets are you focusing on currently?
A: With music being so universal nowadays thanks to its high availability through streaming, this is truly a worldwide venture. As we grow our portfolio of artists, there is the opportunity for this to become a multi-faceted, global platform for fans and artists to connect and interact. Also due to our relationships with the artist, they have the ability to help us reach millions of people globally all through social media.
Q: More generally, how do you see your industry developing, and where do you place yourself in the industry?
A: Over the past 12 months, industry experts estimate that the social gaming market grew by more than 23% to $4.3billion. Social gaming publishers typically acquire players that seek entertainment and virtual prizes (badges, tokens, etc). The backstageplay offering is specific to music, where fans have already been acquired by the artist and want to engage with their hero. Superstar artists have 50M-100M facebook likes, with some of their videos receiving 1-2 billion views. We are the only company providing a gamification product specifically in the music sector, where fans seek to engage with artists and opt-in to any activity which better-enhances that connection.
