What was the last photo that you posted to your social media? Why did you post it?

My bet is that you posted it because you took a photo of something that you thought was cool and worth showing other people. Almost bragging?

Let’s be honest: social media was built on bragging. We just usually try to frame it so it doesn’t seem like we’re boasting about how brilliant we are and how great things are going.

Imagine an app that harnesses this desire to brag, which actively encourages you to brag about the things that you’re proud of. An app which allows you to be real and rewards you for your bragging.

You don’t have to imagine…

We are braggie – a social network born from the new popular hashtag – #braggie. Founded by Simon Jenns, a thrill-seeking adventurer, and Forrest Smith, an international traveller. Users will upload their braggies, follow, comment, and most importantly brag about other users’ braggies. The highlight of braggie comes from a revolutionary rating feature – allowing users to judge the brags (brag the photo). Filters allow users to see how their braggies compare to the rest of the world by time (most recent and daily leader board) and by hashtags.

We are currently spreading the word about braggie through social media and we are receiving a phenomenal response – with many people already tagging both #braggie and our braggie pages in their photos. The term ‘braggie’ is becoming very popular across all social media platforms, it has even been called “the new selfie” by Telegraph and Three Mobile have recently launched a photo competition called #holidaybraggie.

Our goal for braggie is not small and is not something we take lightly – our aim is to be the next photo sharing platform – we feel that we have the concept that will knock social networks such as Instagram, Tumblr and Facebook out of the water.

Braggie allows you to connect with people you think are cool – brag, comment and engage with their photos.
