Stone Point Capital LLC announced the closing of its tenth private equity fund, Trident X, securing $11.5 billion in total commitments. The fund surpassed its original target and hard cap of $9 billion, making it the largest fundraise in the firm’s history. Trident X is approximately $2.5 billion larger than its predecessor, Trident IX, which closed in 2022 at $9 billion.
What Stone Point Capital Plans to Do With the Capital
The firm states that Trident X will continue its strategy of identifying and supporting owner-operators in the global financial services sector. The fund began its investment period in May 2025 and has already completed its first investment in Ultimus Fund Solutions, a provider of full-service fund administration services.
