Below is our recent interview with Rodrigo Carrion Marsano, Head of Business Intelligence at Striga:
Q: What is Striga?
A: Striga is a crypto banking-as-a-service provider. This means that it provides financial services infrastructure to companies in the crypto, banking, and card issuing space, so they can build and launch their own crypto Neobanks and crypto native card programs.
Currently, Striga is headquartered in Estonia and operates in Europe.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: In May we announced two partnerships, one with Lithuania’s Bitlocus and the other with the Telegram-based Zilliqa wallet Zeeves. Bitlocus will offer a cryptocurrency-enabled debit card to its users, and Zeeves will go live with its own platform: Zeeves Neobank.
Both companies are taking a step forward in bridging the gap between the crypto ecosystem and the fiat world with products that most users have never experienced. Zeeves expects the beta version of its platform to be released as soon as Q3 2022.
This goes to show the potential of crypto banking as a service, such as Striga’s. Building a Neobank has gone from being a years-long, daunting endeavor, to a simple partnership that can go live in a mere months.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Striga’s platform can be described in three parts: Fiat (or traditional currencies) features, Crypto features, and Risk services.
On the Fiat side, the platform enables companies to issue physical and virtual cards under their own brands, and create personal IBAN accounts for their users. On the crypto side, Striga provides companies with managed wallets for their users to store and transact cryptocurrencies
Finally, the risk service that Striga offers is handling all KYC (Know-your-customer) and AML (Anti money laundering) on behalf of its clients, so they can focus on growing their products. This is possible because Striga is preparing to leverage its upcoming position as a virtual asset service provider in Estonia.
Combine all of the above and you get a crypto Neobank.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: The company is currently in an expansionary stage. You can expect new partnerships and exciting projects on a recurring basis.
Also, we have a very proactive and compliance-first approach to regulations, so you can expect us to be on the forefront of Europe’s new frameworks.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: First, that Striga is actually positioning itself at the forefront of financial regulation in Europe, and we think about compliance as the core of the company.
Second, our team happens to be as international as it gets: We have people from Asia, North & South America, Europe and Africa.
Third, when the company first started, its main products were two mobile apps that offered Bitcoin Lightning wallets and debit cards. This means that, unlike other banking as a service providers, Striga was crypto-first, so the management team has aggregated expertise in both crypto and payments from the business and technological perspectives. This translates into a deep understanding of the problems B2C companies can face.Activate Social Media:
