Q: Trunx lets users store and organize photos and videos – how would you describe Trunx in your own words?
A: Trunx is my whole visual life story kept safe, secure and organized as a part of the biggest memory bank in the world. Trunx is a place where I can always find, access and share my most precious memories.
Q: Could you tell us more about Trunx’s key features?
Trunx’s key features include:
- Unlimited Storage: Trunx users are able to take advantage of our unlimited storage offer until the end of 2014, after which we’ll still have free accounts as well as unlimited paid options.
- Cloud Camera: Trunx cloud camera allows users to take photos and video that go directly to the cloud, without ever taking up any storage space on their device.
- EchoPix: a totally unique feature in the Trunx camera that captures photos with sound. Perfect for reliving moments such as concerts, the sound of the waves on vacation, and many other memories.
- SharedPix: a private collaborative photo album that can be shared with a select group of members – all of whom can contribute to this living photo album that updates in real time as well as pull pictures added from other members into their own Trunx Timeline.
- Tags: you can add personal tags to photos so it’s super easy to pull up landscapes, selfies, friends, or furry friends in no time at all for sharing, showing or just to bring you back to that moment in time. Trunx also comes with SmartTags so you can easily find imported pictures from Instagram, Dropbox, and Facebook as well as your videos and EchoPix all in one view.
Q: What’s the coolest use of Trunx you’ve seen?
A: It’s been really fun to see how SharedPix is being used. For instance, families love that a bunch of relatives can all contribute to a shared album. Unlike Facebook where people feel guilty about clogging up the social stream with tons of pictures of one event such as a family reunion or vacation, SharedPix is perfect for sharing just between a few or many people and as many pictures as desired — knowing that everyone is happy to see those pictures!
We’ve also seen great adoption of SharedPix at events: our Unofficial Photo Album for Outside Lands has close to 200 members with over 700 shared photos and our recent “Share the Peace” photo contest has over 260 members with over 700 photo submissions.
We think photos are much more than just pictures but also can be used as visual cues and reminders. Internally we use tags to create reminders for ourselves, SharedPix to share product inspiration as well as EchoPix and video to send notes to each other. We hope to see other users adopt similar usages for photo reminders leveraging some of the functionality we have built for preserving and organizing those memories.
Q: How private and secure are your users’ photos and videos?
A: Privacy and security are two of our core values. We know that we are working with people’s most precious memories and we take that responsibility very seriously. The product was built with security as the top priority: we use a double encryption process on both the transmission as well as storage of the data in addition to built-in privacy features, such as a pin code that can be added to the app for another level of privacy and peace of mind.
Q: How would you convince the reader to start using Trunx?
A: In two ways: the first being that you don’t need to take our word for it, go look at our reviews! We have maintained a 4.5* rating in App stores since our launch and people love us. Secondly, give us a try, we’re free to test out — once you experience the app and see how easy it is to find your memories, you’ll convert!
