UruIT Helps Its Clients With Building New Products, Scaling Existing Software, And Migrating To The Latest Technologies

Below is our recent interview with Marcelo Lopez, CEO of UruIT:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to UruIT?

A: UruIT is a nearshore development company based in Uruguay and Colombia, and incorporated in California. We’ve been creating web & mobile solutions for innovative US companies since 2007. We help our clients with building new products, scaling their existing software, and/or migrating to the latest technology. We’ve worked with companies from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises, on over 150 design and development projects.

Q: You’ve recently launched a new office in Colombia; can you tell us something more?

A: We launched our first Colombian office back in 2016, in Medellin. Since then, we’ve grown at a constant pace and we even had to move to a bigger office last year. Nowadays our Colombian team is composed of 30 professionals including developers, designers, product owners, and more. Recently we decided to open another in Bogotá, in order to explore new opportunities in the country’s capital. We’re very excited about it!

Q: Who is your ideal client and why?

A: Our typical client is a technical leader, such as a CTO or someone with a similar role, who is in charge of improving or scaling an existing SaaS project or building a product from scratch. This person is also typically located in the USA and looking for a nearshore partner. Some of our highlighted clients are Microsoft, Bloomberg, the San Diego Padres and Stackify. We created this client profile based on our 11 years of experience. We believe our clients come to us because they feel confident that we have the right skills for supporting their needs from project definition to technical development, including product management and application design.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your solutions?

A: We help our clients shorten production time and boost their productivity, which increases their revenues by delivering high-quality software. Among the services we offer are web app and mobile development, UX/UI design, Machine Learning solutions and more recently, Product Discovery phases.

Q: What can we expect from UruIT in the next four months?

A: We envision continuous growth for UruIT. We want our offices in Uruguay and Colombia to grow in matters of employees and projects. We are expanding our Machine Learning capabilities and we plan to stay in the same track; right now we are working on a specific service: software development for startups. The idea of reinventing ourselves constantly to keep providing better services and promoting Latin American talent is what drives us.
