Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Vision Marine Technologies?
A: Vision Marine Technologies Inc., (NASDAQ: VMAR) strives to change and be a contributing factor in fighting the problem of waterway pollution by disrupting the boating industry with electric power, contributing to zero pollution, zero emission, wave less water, and a noiseless environment.
Our flagship outboard powertrain (E-Motion) is the first fully electric outboard powertrain system that combines an advanced battery pack, inverter, and high efficiency motor with proprietary union assembly between the transmission and the electric motor design and extensive control software. Q: You’ve recently completed your IPO; can you tell us something more?
A: The tremendous interest we received from institutional investors for our IPO indicates the level of investment dollars considering green technology and/or green energy opportunities. The offering was increased twice, as well as selling the over allotment of 15%, with a total raise of US$27.6 million.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your technology?
A: The E-Motion powertrain technology provides what we believe to be the only truly disruptive series production high powered electric outboard system for watercraft that offers exceptional performance otherwise not available within the industry. It is a complete integrated propulsion and energy management system perfectly suitable for demanding recreational boaters.
The first fully-electric 180 hp integrated outboard system that will be offered to OEM in 2021 offers exceptional performance with the power & speed the boat consumer is looking for.
The E-Motion powertrain has a proprietary union assembly between the transmission and the electric motor design, with a fully sealed outboard motor means there is no oil to check or spark plugs to replace….low maintenance cost.
Rapid, inexpensive charging – no special charging infrastructure or equipment required – plug into a regular 110v/220v at all marina locations.
Q: What can we expect from Vision Marine Technologies in next 6 months?
A: Vision Marine Technologies will be launching our E-Motion powertrain to OEMs throughout the US and Europe over the next 6 months.
