To learn more about Wasabi Publicity, see our recent interview with the Founder and CEO, Drew Gerber:
Q: Drew, tell us something more about your work?
A: Wasabi Publicity works with companies, organizations, experts, and thought leaders committed to making the world a better place.
We position our clients’ insights and expertise inside the media to take their book, cause, or business to the next level.
Q: What is the main difference between old PR success and new PR success?
A: It’s no secret PR is still the best way to establish your credibility, create awareness and get your message out into the world. But in our current media landscape, the story doesn’t end when you land your dream placement or interview. In order to leverage your coverage, you have to share it with your fans, followers and connections, email it to your potential clients and add it to your website. This is why we also focus on our clients’ owned media (website, blog, social media, etc.) to ensure their PR success.

Q: What do you offer to your clients and what makes them come back?
A: Results. Because at the end of the day, that’s what our clients want.
Whether they are walking 600 miles from London to Geneva to deliver a message of peace for the Syrian people, wanting a big splash in London for their new service, or launching a bestselling book, our results keep clients coming back. We land media coverage that furthers their commitments.
Q: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in launching your business and how did you overcome it?
A: PR companies are typically located in New York or Los Angeles, which is great; but when my business partner Michelle Tennant Nicholson and I started Wasabi Publicity, we wanted to live in Asheville, North Carolina. The solution: create a virtual company. While virtual is now commonplace, in 2002 we were recognized by PR Week and Good Morning America for our innovation. Designing our company that way was one of the best decisions we ever made. Now, it allows me to live in the most beautiful city in the world, Budapest.
