Below is our interview with Paul Wesley, Co-founder of Wild:
Q: What is Wild’s story, how did you start?
A: 1. I was a member of Tinder and found many users from Tinder are mainly complaining about two problems:
1) Scammers. As we know, Tinder has a large amount of users but they also have many scammers which are really annoying and disappointing.
2) Tinder is open alll people, which means some users may use it to look for a hookup, while others want to find a serious relationship. That bothers many of their users.
2. I also know how it feels when you are really into someone but find out she is not real, so I came up a new & fast concept in September 2015 to get users verified. Wild is the first dating app which asks its users to get verified with a suggested gesture. At first, users need to send their photos with a clear face and an “Oh yeah!” gesture, now is a “thumbs up” gesture.

Q: How exactly does Wild work?
A: It is super easy. Users just need to sign up and upload a photo with a suggested gesture to get verified. Then they can click “Heart” to like and “X” to pass, when there is a mutual match, they can chat for free immediately.
Q: What makes you stand out from your competition?
A: We are very proud to say that the rate of verification os over 70% which makes online dating safer and more real. We now have over 650k downloads and more than 400k users verified themselves. At the same time, we are a totally free dating app(some apps claim they are free but users need to pay when they want to check others’ profile, messages, etc.), users can send free messages. And since we are focusing on Hookup dating, our users know what they want and it will save their time, too.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: Wild is a general dating app which is for all singles. Many people are looking for hookup mainly, but at the same time, we also want to help users find casual dating, meet new friends, develop a long-term relationship.
