This results in lower latency for “GPU to GPU” and “GPU to high bandwidth memory” (HBM) links, while maintaining compatibility with existing silicon photonic modulators and detectors.

The technology addresses the “escape bandwidth” bottleneck in AI clusters, where data movement between GPUs is a limiting factor. Xscape’s roadmap envisions scaling to 16, 32, and eventually 128+ wavelengths, potentially transforming data center optics by enabling denser, more efficient networks.
