DropIn, Inc. – A Full Service On Demand Live Video Platform For Insurance And Automotive Companies

The DropIn platform enables insurers to use on-demand live video for policy acquisition and management by harnessing the power of the video camera inside the smartphone that nearly everyone carries. And for automotive, customers can receive an anonymous, personalized live tour of a car all from the comfort of their home. Below is our interview with DropIn co-founder Tamer Ibrahim:

Q: Describe DropIn in your own words?

A: DropIn is a full service on demand live video platform catering to the automotive and insurance verticals. For automotive, we have a “go live” option on a dealer’s website allowing a customer to preview a car anonymously before ever stepping foot on the lot. For insurance, we provide a more efficient solution during the underwriting, claims, and ultimately claimant renewal process.

Q: You’ve recently launched your service in a used dealership in LA. How have the results been?

A: We sold our first car in four days (without any publicity about what we are doing). People don’t like to be sold to, but they love to buy. We built DropIn to make the buying process easier for both parties.

Q: Can you tell us more about DropIn’s key features?

A: We enable a “virtual up” (trademarked) for the dealers. Why send an online shopper to a youtube video, or have them scroll through a series of professional pictures? You spent the money getting this customer to your page, we want to help you keep them there.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: Our primary focus is enabling a better buying experience for both parties. We want to get a dealership more sales, while allowing the customer a more convenient way to shop (and ultimately buy).

Q: How do we convince dealers to use DropIn?

A: Our sales team pounds the pavement. We believe in what we are doing, and are going to knock door to door to each dealership if we have to. Whatever it will take to get it done.
