Below is our recent interview with Bhaktraj Singh, CEO of Hazelton Group.:
Q: How would you describe Hazelton Group?
A: Hazelton Group is a real estate development company that specializes primarily in mid-rise residential condominium ventures and provides desirable real estate opportunities. We are responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and construction of multiple mid-rise condominium projects. Our primary goal is to bring together various elements necessary for the successful completion of our development projects. We handle everything from project planning, acquisition and financing, design and approvals, construction management, sales and marketing, operations and handover, post-development responsibilities, etc.
Q: Are there any projects you’re currently working on that you’d like to share with us?
A: I operate several other companies other than just Hazelton Group. One of my companies, Adora, is currently working on a project to establish state-of-the-art Alzheimer’s residences in the city of Burlington, Ontario, to address the lack of specialized care for our aging population. I myself have family members and friends who have family members who suffer from this condition, I have seen firsthand the need for specialized care for those who suffer from this disease. All I want is for them to have the care they need so they can live the remainder of their days with a certain level of independence and dignity, and so that their families don’t have to worry about putting their own lives on hold to care for their sick loved ones.
Q: Why do you feel it’s so important to have these residences available for the people of Burlington?
A: Specialized Alzheimer’s residences are important for several reasons, such as having access to specialists that are trained and experienced in providing care. Their ability to understand the unique needs and challenges associated with the disease such as memory loss, cognitive decline, behavioural changes, and safety concerns. It also provides residences with safety and security, seeing as the disease can impair a person’s judgment, orientation, and ability to navigate their environment. These residences offer the features necessary to ensure the physical safety of residences. This is essential to making sure that patients receive the best possible care.
Q: As an entrepreneur who owns and operates multiple businesses, how do you keep everything organized?
A: I have an excellent team that I work with and I know how to organize and delegate tasks as needed. While I oversee all of my projects, I move responsibilities onto other professionals and entrust them with executing aspects of their responsibilities independently, for the most part. Of course, approvals go through me and I provide direction as needed, but in order to manage any successful business you have to be able to put your trust in others to handle their portion of the responsibility. This allows me to focus on my own primary tasks and keep the ball rolling.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
A: Don’t be afraid to take risks, especially when you’re young. Make sure you’re business venture is going to be filling a needed gap in whatever market you’re entering and then find a way to make yourself stand out from other competitors in your industry. It’s much easier said than done, so I would suggest studying some business courses as well to get yourself familiarized with the sector and get some necessary tools in your toolbox.
