Andreas Birnik, Co-Founder of CreoPop, talks with us about CreoPop 3D Pen:
Q: Andreas where did your team get the idea for the CreoPop?
A: The core competence in our company is the creation of really cool inks. We have made inks in many different colors, ink that changes color with temperature and glow-in-the-dark ink. We are working on many more type of inks including aromatic, body paint ink, elastic, glittering, magnetic and ink that conducts electricity. The CreoPop 3D pen is the first application to showcase our unique inks. Later on, we will be looking at other applications within the 3D printing space.
CreoPop is all about combining gadgetery with chemical engineering to make magic happen.
Q: What was technically the most challenging part of developing it?
A: It was challenging to get the viscosity of the photopolymer ink just right. We have developed the world’s first photopolymer paste where the viscosity can be varied. It has been a challenge to get this right so that the paste solidified quickly enough without clogging the nozzle.
