Intersec has recently raised a 10 Million Series C round of financing to strengthen its operations worldwide. Intersec software solutions enables telecom operators to derive value from their network big data. Applications range from Customer Base Management, mass-scale Location-Based Services, Fraud Management and Business Analytics. Below is our interview with Yann Chevalier, CEO of Intersec:
Q: Yann, how would you describe Intersec in your own words?

Our disruptive technology crunches and consolidates huge amounts of data coming from heterogeneous network equipment and IT, and turns them into actionable insights in real-time. Q: Can you give us more insights into your solutions?
A: Intersec Portfolio helps companies derive value from their data and facilitate service innovation.
- Our Customer Base Management solution helps them automate their BTL marketing to engage in a continuous conversation with their customers. By leveraging analytics, location and algorithms, communications can be personalized according to customers’ context, preferences, and past behavior.
- Our Location Data Monetization solution gives geoinsights for our customers to take contextual actions. They may implement mass-scale Location-Based Services at minimal cost with a constant monitoring of all their customers’ locations and trigger instant notifications when they enter a defined geofence.
- Our streaming Fraud Analytics solution can identify suspicious patterns for our customers to act immediately. Agnostic and self-learning, it provides them with the flexibility and responsiveness they need to stay ahead of the latest frauds.
- We also offer Public Safety Solutions that fully explore the potential of mobile telecom infrastructure to communicate in a timely manner with a large number of people during a crisis.

Q: You’ve recently announced a $10 million series C funding round; what are your plans?
A: In 2014, we announced a $20 million series B funding round and a $10 million funding round in 2016.
This funding is used to strengthen Intersec’s operations worldwide (we have expanded to US, APAC and Latam regions since 2014) and to fuel innovation and development offering Smart Data software solutions for both the telecom industry and other verticals looking to benefit from its technology.

Q: In terms of what you’ve learned from building Intersec, what advice would you give to future entrepreneurs?
A: Learn from your failures, because you have to fail before you succeed. Most start-ups don’t make it. You will if you adapt everything regularly based on the feedback from outside: strategy, product, user interface, business plan, everything!
