Meet Sirenum – Cloud-Based Technology Company That Helps Employers Better Manage Their Shift Workers

Listen to this article

Below is our recent interview with Joshua Pines, Co-Founder of Sirenum:

Q: This is the first time we have spoken. Can you provide a brief overview of Sirenum?

A: Sirenum’s cloud-based technology helps employers better manage their shift workers. Its mission is to support any shift worker in any industry in any country. We work with some of the biggest names in staffing including Randstad, Impellam, Manpower, AdCorp, and GI Group across multiple countries, as well as specialist agencies. Sirenum also powers high-complexity work environments like those found at Great Western Railways, Scottish Borders, and National Grid. It simplifies the process of managing shift workers, including rostering and managing schedules, monitoring and engaging staff, and processing key financial processes including payroll.

Q: What are key features of your platform?

A: One of the biggest challenges in managing shift workers is ensuring the right person is in the right place at the right time and is paid the right amount. Sirenum streamlines this process with its workforce management platform, which includes tools for roster management, employee engagement, compliance, employee monitoring, time interpretation, and payroll. We also offer real-time fatigue and risk management, time capture, geofencing, support for lone workers and patrol, and robust analytics.

Q: You’ve recently raised $2,700,000 in Series A funding; can you tell us something more?

A: We are thrilled to have our key seed investors join us for this series A funding. In addition, our very first angel investor has also joined for this round, which is telling. Raising funds during the pandemic was tricky but we have a strong level of trust with our investors and our growth during 2020 was rewarded with their deeper commitment.

Q: What are your plans and goals for the future?

A: From a technology perspective, we are expanding and diversifying our product suite. It’s the next natural step as we move from a single product company to a multi-product suite. From a commercial perspective, we will be deepening our presence in the mid-market and more aggressively penetrating geographies outside the UK and Ireland, especially the BeNeLux and DACH regions, ANZ, and the US. From a personnel perspective, we will continue to grow both–commercially and technically–and expect to be around 60 people soon.
