Q: Adam, what is unique about Nexus Direct and how does it stand out from competition?

A: With offices in Ireland and the United States, we are bringing the best of U.S. fundraising to clients in Europe, and the best of European fundraising to the U.S. With strategy led by our data capabilities, along with our creative and digital talent and production services experience, we’re uniquely positioned to lead the market in the donor engagement and fundraising space.

In addition, the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield certification held by our team has enabled us to be prepared to roll out the pending data and privacy changes, which our fundraising clients must abide by. This, while building more in-depth fundraising programmes, will further build their donor relationships and earn and retain the trust of their supporters.

Q: What have been some major milestones over the last 12 months?

A: Over the past year, we have expanded our global footprint, attracting new clients in Ireland, including the Irish Red Cross, MSF Ireland, and Saint John of God. While these organisations chose to work with us because of our proven fundraising expertise, we are also pleased to be able to partner with such important organisations and advance their missions through our work.

Nexus Direct also became a corporate partner of the Charities Institute Ireland (CII), which works to build a vibrant, independent charity sector that attracts increased funding support to deliver positive, tangible social change in Ireland. We are looking forward to working with CII to share learning and knowledge that will help charities across Ireland increase both income and impact.

We recently brought Alan Clayton, one of the most influential European strategic fundraising counsellors, to Washington, D.C., for the second time this year, to train U.S fundraising leaders on mission-based fundraising.

Q: What geographic markets are you focusing on currently?

A: Our growing global business is expected to substantially grow in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and mainland Europe, and continues to evolve across the United States, having recently been contracted to work with two large nonprofit organisations in California.

Q: What are your plans for the next few months?

A: As a founding corporate partner with Charities Institute Ireland, our team has had an integral role in developing programmes to enable positive social change. Our CEO, Suzanne Cole Nowers, will be speaking in September for CII’s Catalyst for Change series in Dublin. As active members of the Institute of Fundraising, IoF Cultural Sector Network, and CO3, we will be speaking and attending upcoming events with these organisations as well. It is also important in our role as a leader in the marketplace to support and share ideas with industry leaders and other fundraising professionals.

Q: Who is your ideal client and why?

A: We have found that our most successful partnerships are with organisations who are seeking to engage their supporters in an authentic conversation about their mission, launch, or who are substantially evolving or reworking their fundraising or marketing programmes, or rethinking their supporter “journey” — all of which will increase short- and long-term revenue and, most importantly, maximise the contribution to their mission. We set ambitious goals, constantly striving to exceed them and improve the quality of our clients’ relationships with their donors.
