Q: Daniel , tell us something more about YDreams Global and your core competence?

A: YDreams Global with offices in Vancouver, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, is a reference in innovative projects and products that combine Technology, Design and Content to respond to challenges of the Age of Experience.

We have extensive experience of more than 10 years developing in the fields of Intelligent environments, Internet of Things, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Virtual Reality, Natural and Multitouch Interfaces, Augmented Reality, Natural User Interfaces (NUI).

The company operates as a partner with companies and brands to reframe their strategy through relevant initiatives that have integrated the digital experience with the physical presence. YDreams is capable of anticipating future challenges and connect them to the needs of the market, by building innovative concepts and delivering results with international excellence.

YDreams Global creates and delivers products, services and knowledge in the form of Flagship stores, immersive exhibitions, interactive museums, innovation rooms, technological corporative stands, touch points and sensory retail exhibitors. The company has a multidisciplinary team motivated by the challenge of promoting positive impact on the lives clients and consumers. The global portfolio has over 1000 projects in 30 countries and more than 5000 interactive experiences in two decades of operating internationally.

Q: What geographic markets are you focusing on currently?

A: In July 2016, after completing a reverse-take over process, YDreams became the first Brazilian based technology company to be listed on TSX Ventures, one of the main global stock markets. On this new international stage, YDreams adopted the Global signature, assumed a new visual identity and expanded its role to the key markets of North America. Our focus is to establish our operation in North America with an office in the United States as well as to develop the base in Vancouver.

Q: What is your main goal at the moment?

A: The first action of this movement was the creation of a product division responsible for developing new revenue models through technology based products. The new division´s kick off was the launch of the SKUP line for point of purchase experience and the Virtual Aquarium platform, completely redesigned with focus on scalability.

The main goal at the moment is to prepare the new offices in North America with a strong sales team for the project division as well as the product division.

In 2016 YDreams delivered two great interactive Exhibitions, a new edition about Brazilian hero, the F1 racer Ayrton Senna, and architecture master Oscar Niemeyer. Another important project delivered was the official city of Rio de Janeiro´s Olympic City Museum.

As one of the most experienced companies in the world in the field of interactive exhibitions and museums, we want to explore the potential of digital storytelling for the great sports teams of the NBA, NFL, MLS and NHL. The YDreams team is very excited about that.

Q: What are your plans for the next year?

A: Our plan for 2017 is to continue the movement that was started after going public and getting the clients necessary to strength the brand awareness. That means building strong relationships with partners and brands that have worked with YDreams worldwide and expanding that work to North America.

This year the company made great progress in that direction and 2017 should reflect that positively.

A good example is the project created for Cisco, the Urban Innovation for the city of Rio that was released before the Olympic Games. The same concept could be applied to different cities in North America.

YDreams Global will also increase the investment in Research and Development, with the goal of increasing the proprietary technology in the fields of Virtual and Augmented Reality.
In 2017 there is also the goal of releasing new products as well as new updates on the existing ones. It should be a very busy year.

Q: What’s the best thing about YDreams that people might not know about?

A: I would love to share our vision and why we do what we do. It´s well known that the future has arrived. Technology has been changing the way we communicate with and to people, objects and environments around us. In this scenario it´s fundamental to understand longings and desires of increasingly empowered consumers, who seek convenience, remarkable experiences and protagonism. New behavior patterns have caused changes in the market because of the new way people relate to products and services. The new times have presented traditional models with challenges; now brands also compete for attention, relevance and a place in the future.

A set of innovations and technological facilities has transformed our daily routine. There are new consumers accustomed to the benefits of mobility and the facility of having services and contents at their disposal in a simple and fast way. It´s mandatory for companies to realize the need innovate what they supply so that it is relevant to people in this new context.

This new reality is driven and empowered by new technologies, whether they are digital or not. It´s not about replacing the real world with the digital, but rather to use all resources available within the digital scope to transform business, relationships and behavior in the real world.

Moved by the belief that the world needs dreams to build the future, YDreams Global’s key strategic guideline is to harmonize technology, design and content. In an increasingly connected and ephemeral world, the combination of these three disciplines builds relevance and generates value.
