Q: What is AmpMe? Could you tell us AmpMe’s startup story?
A: AmpMe is an app that allows users to play music in perfect sync across multiple devices to create one portable and powerful sound system.
Our CEO Martin-Luc Archambault got the idea when he was visiting friends on a ski trip in British Columbia. They were celebrating their arrival but didn’t have any speakers to get the party started. The only solution was to put the phone in a plastic cup…with terrible results. Then, they all tried to play a song together and manually sync it up…with terrible results.
That’s when the idea for AmpMe was born.

Q: Which customers benefit from your services and how?
A: Anyone who loves music and wants to experience it with friends, together will benefit. Now that we integrate with YouTube, SoundCloud and your personal music library, you can find just about any song in the world and play it through your device, sync with friends and party out loud.

Q: You’ve recently announced a $8 million series A funding round; what are your plans?
A: AmpMe plans to use the funding to hire the best talent, further invest in product development and in the underlying technology, as well as secure strategic partnerships.

Q: How would you convince the reader to start using AmpMe?
A: Next time you’re with friends at a picnic in the park or at the beach, you’re going to want some music to set the vibe and AmpMe will be perfect. We’ve all been there: Great environment, but dead silence. Listening to one person’s phone is a terrible option and most people don’t carry around a Jambox or other bluetooth speaker. Download the app and your friends will thank you for saving the day.
