Q: Joy, could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to PostcardMania?
A: PostcardMania is a full-service marketing company specializing in lead generation using various channels including pay per click and direct mail postcards. We track and catalog the results of our clients so we can create marketing campaigns based on what we already know works.
I started PostcardMania in 1998 with no capital investment, and today it’s a $45 million enterprise that employs 200 people in the Tampa Bay, FL area. We started out as just a postcard marketing company, but now in addition to direct mail we offer all kinds of marketing products, including website development, pay per click management and email marketing. Oh, and free marketing advice 24/7!
Q: Who is your ideal customer and why?
A: We love all small business owners, and our ideal customer is one who wants to grow their business, is willing to learn marketing and will work with us to achieve that goal.
A lot of small business owners want to hand over a check and all the responsibility to an “expert” and say, “Here, you handle our marketing.” In the end they are sorely disappointed in the results.
We want to avoid all of that heartache. Our ideal customer is one that wants to learn and be an active participant in their marketing — to be a partner with us. When we combine our expertise in marketing with their knowledge of their industry and really work together, we get awesome results!

Q: What’s the achievement PostcardMania is most proud of?
A: Without a doubt, we’re most proud of the 73,792 small business owners we’ve helped – because when small businesses do well, we all do well.
I believe that small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and if we can help them grow to a point where they need to hire another employee to handle demand, we all benefit!

Q: What are your plans for the next year?
A: I am SO excited about this upcoming year.
We just bought a new high-powered digital printing press, the AccurioJet KM-1 UV Inkjet (we’re one of only TWO companies in the United States to own one!). This new press will let us print variable data jobs (those are highly personalized postcards that vary per recipient based on information like their name, neighborhood, gender, etc.) at three times our current output.
The press will help us expand our personalized monthly subscription programs that generate new leads every single month for our clients— and they don’t even to lift a finger! They just tell us who to target (like new movers or people with a birthday that month), and we market to them automatically.
And the quality of this press is beyond anything on the market today, which is SO important to us, because we’re responsible for projecting the best possible image for our small business clients.

Q: How would you convince the reader to start using PostcardMania?
A: You can’t order from PostcardMania online — you have to talk to a marketing consultant, and here’s why:
