The GlobalSign story began over a decade ago, and since that time, they’ve been working hard to develop cutting-edge technologies for events. Below is our recent interview with Veemal Gungadin, CEO at GlobalSign.in:

Q: Could you give our readers a brief introduction to GlobalSign.in?

A: Our company is Asia’s leading events technology provider and has extensive experience in enabling the entire concept of smart events. We are headquartered in Singapore, but we also have offices in the U.S., China, and India.

There are two core enterprise SaaS software products that we have developed: GEVME and Judgify.

Our team researches and writes extensively on the latest tech trends in events—ranging from face recognition to seamless RFID or beacons—and we integrate these innovations into our products as we develop cutting-edge products with the goal of creating personalised event journeys. You can find many of Asia’s iconic events in our portfolio, from FinTech Festival to Money 20/20 Asia. Recently, we were also honored to be the official event tech partner of the historic North Korea–U.S. Summit that was held in Singapore.

Q: You were an official event tech partner of the 2018 DPRK–USA Summit. Could you tell us more about it?

A: It was a huge honour for Singapore to be chosen to host the Summit. It was a unique opportunity for Singapore to show its renowned efficiency and ultra-modern capabilities to the entire world. As you can likely imagine, it was an equally great honour for us to be selected to work on the Summit. Singapore simply wanted to work with the best to ensure a flawlessly run event. Brands like Singtel & SATS were involved to cover different aspects of the event, with the latter tasked with providing 7.2 tonnes of food, where the bulk would be cooked at its kitchen at Changi Airport.

Being chosen by Singapore to work on the Summit was a clear testament of our leadership position in the field.

Now, the funny thing is, when I was growing up, someone asked me what I’d like to do when I grew up. Back then, I said, “Bring world peace.” It was meant to be something of a joke, but when I look at the kinds of events we enable, especially this particular one, I realise that this is precisely what our company is doing today. We couldn’t be prouder of this.

At the 2018 DPRK–USA Summit, we took charge of the online registration and onsite check-in processes. Our mission was to make the registration journey flawless and completely secure. The timeline for getting everything up and running was crazy, but our team did an excellent job. The energy was incredible. The prime minister of Singapore personally thanked us for a job well done.

Q: Tell us more about your products. What are GEVME and Judgify? How do they work?

A: GEVME is an event management and event marketing software. While building this platform, we’ve gathered together our best thinkers and set our minds on creating something truly integrative. So it’s not just a set of tools for event management. GEVME is an all-in-one toolkit with solutions that include website building, registration, onsite check-in, and more. All of these complement each other perfectly and help our clients power an entire event journey.

Judgify is an awards management platform. This one caters to contest and awards activities, from online abstract management to industry-related awards events. The Judgify toolkit embraces entry submission modules, judging, and analytics. Our goal with Judgify is to help businesses, nonprofits, and educational organisations build strong awards programs that they are able to manage flexibly from anywhere in the world.
