Below is our recent interview with Jon Thomsen, CEO at Atmosera:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Atmosera?

Q: What are the main reasons/benefits for businesses to move to the cloud?

Q: What makes your services unique?

Q: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your business and how did you overcome it?

A: The largest challenge has been transforming our own business to support, manage, and market/sell public cloud. Over the past four years we’ve gone from a local northwest infrastructure managed service provider to one of the leading managed Azure providers on the planet. We’ve moved from the traditional infrastructure engineering paradigm to the software defined, DeveOps public cloud paradigm where solutions are automated, scale is a requirement, and geographic reach is unbounded.

Our ability to offer hybrid solutions or pure public cloud solutions has taken a lot from the perspective of product and solution development, operational learning, and required an evolvlution of how we approach customers or potential customers. We overcame the challenges through clear planning, great employees, and a forward leaning embrace of this transformation. Our only regret is that we didn’t start the transformation years before we did.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: Our mission is to empower our customers through the services we provide. As we have done over the past twenty years, we will continue to evolve our service platform to remain relevant to our customers in a rapidly changing technology landscape.

We will continue to build our expertise, service capabilities, and develop our own IP against Azure, we’ll be offering management of another public cloud provider, and we’ll launch augmented services around app modernization, data platform, advanced analytics, and IoT.
