Q: Can you tell us something more about Cubby?
A: The traditional lockers used to store your bags are not conveniently located and expensive. We solve this problem by partnering with local businesses and use their unused secure space to store the luggage. The bags can be stored for just a few hours or for any number of days. Also, we charge a flat price for any bag size while traditional lockers price goes up with larger luggage. Luggage doesn’t have to be just roller bags but we can accomodate your gym bags, backpacks, gig bags or even strollers. We believe that traveling has to be hassle free and the focus should be on making memories and not burdened by lugging.

Q: You’ve recently been selected to exhibit at 2020 startup grind global conference; could you tell us something more?
A: This year’s Startup Grind global conference at Redwood City on Feb 11th-12th, is considered one of the most important events for not just the startups but anybody in the field of making a difference. The two days were both educational and inspirational. Only the top 10% of all applicants from over 4000 applications and across 133 countries were selected to exhibit and we are very proud to be one among them.
We exhibited on Feb 11th at the Google for Startups tent. There were a total of ten tents accommodating many startups on both days. It turned out to be a huge success for us, opening up our networking and connections world. It was also a wonderful opportunity to meet and make like minded friends across the globe, who share similar hardships and success like we do. We started talking to attendees,students,other startups,sponsors,investors,etc,.. around 7 am and we didn’t stop until 5pm. We were thrilled at the interest shown in knowing more about how Cubby can help travel smarter.

There was so much excitement,insights and suggestions shared between us and all the guests who stopped at our booth. We listened and answered all the questions, shared our journey to grow Cubby across ten cities and also what we have in store for the future of Cubby. The problem of lugging was universal and most were happy to know that there was a safe and simple solution out there.The idea of Bag and luggage storage with Cubby instead of traditional lockers was embraced widely! The energy in the tent was captivating and filled with so much zeal. At the end of that day, we were filled with nothing but gratitude.
The second day was educational and an opportunity to meet the speakers and investors. I really enjoyed listening and learning from pioneers from various industries. The world class speakers left a lasting impression on one and all. We started the second day by attending Marren Bannon, Co founder & partner at VC at Jane VC, who spoke about how you could ace your first meeting with a Pre-seed or Seed VC, which was very informative. We then had a chance to attend the discussions of various other speakers the rest of the day. We also spent time visiting all the other startups exhibiting on that day.
Altogether , the Global 2020 of Startup Grind turned out to be a wholesome experience for any startup. There was so much request for Cubby at Redwood City, we actually ended up opening our doors into California that day! Yes, we partnered with a local business at Redwood City, so next Startup Grind can be luggage free!
Q: Could you walk us through your process? How does it work?
A: Imagine you are on your Vegas trip and on the last day you have checked out of hotel/vacation rental and your flight is not until late in the evening.You have two options : the first one is to lug the bags around while trotting through the city , the second and more wiser one is to store your bags safely before heading out to explore.

You can start by searching for your nearest luggage storage location, by logging onto our Cubby website. The whole booking process is simple and seamless which takes less than 3 minutes. Drop off all the luggage, secure your bags with the uniquely coded tamper proof bag seal provided at our partner location. Take a picture of the tag or note the bag tag number on the cubby card. All our partner locations are secured with working cameras and trained to provide excellent customer service.. Now you can enjoy the city bags free. Watch our video for a better understanding.
When it is time to bid adieu to the sin city, you bring your cubby card and your Government issued photo ID to the partner location. After verifying your credentials, you can collect your luggage and be off to the airport. This means we babysit your bags for you to make the trip more memorable. This is just one scenario,but it could be that you have been stuck at the airport during long layovers or want to go to an event where bags are prohibited. Q: What are the benefits of becoming a cubber?
A: We help grow local economy by partnering with local business like cafe,restaurants, parlor,etc,..Becoming a cubber (Partner) comes with lots of advantages as listed below:
● Signing up to becoming our cubber is effortless and completely free. Log on to our website and look for : Become a Cubber” . Fill in the information and you can start accepting bags once we have verified and accepted. We require you to have a secure location for storage and working cameras.
● Revenue from storing bags: We share 50% of the revenue generated from storing the luggage. That is extra revenue at no cost.
● Additional revenue stream : When travelers come in to drop off their bags or pick them up, they generally tend to buy additional items sold at your business, starting from gum,water bottles or even locally sourced crafts.
● Free advertisement on our website : We have a dedicated page on our website for your business. Here, you could add interior and exterior pictures of the business, along with interesting or unique items sold at the location.The business location along with its specialities are also listed in them.
Q: What are the company’s plans and goals for the future?
A: Cubby has grown bounds from the time we started back in summer of 2019. We are across 11 cities as of today: Boston, Atlanta, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Redwood City and all major cities in Texas.We want to keep the momentum going and would like to be at major cities across the country by the end of the year. This means once our customer creates a profile login, he/she can use our service on any of their vacation or business trips throughout the year
Our long term goal is to definitely grow globally. The need for luggage storage is universal. Wherever travel takes you, it should also be hassle free. We want to help make memories without luggage, an easy and convenient one. We plan to be a true travel companion on every journey you take anywhere!
