Enterprise Health Works With Large Global Companies, And Government Agencies To Manage Employee Health And Wellness

Listen to this article

Enterprise Health is a health information technology company that works with large global companies, health systems and government agencies who operate their own on-site employee health clinics. Below is our recent interview with Jeff Donnell, President of Enterprise Health:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Enterprise Health?

A: Large employers rely on our platform to manage occupational health and employee health and wellness – ranging from medical surveillance to management of worksite injury and illness to the provision of primary care and disease management services. Enterprise Health is a web-based, SaaS application.

Q: You’ve recently launched Channel-19, a stand-alone application to help employers and hospital systems monitor the health of their employee populations during the COVID-19 pandemic; could you tell us something more about why you launched this and how it is helping clients overcome challenges?

A: We have been working with our Enterprise Health clients over the last few months to configure existing pandemic response capability to respond specifically to COVID-19 monitoring requirements. This collaboration has enabled us to rapidly configure, deploy and refine COVID-19 response functionality based on real-world usage. Over this time period, we began hearing from other organizations that they were trying to monitor their employee populations using paper, spreadsheets or applications not suited for this purpose. We realized we could easily carve out the COVID-19 module we developed and make it available to any organization looking for a quick and affordable way to streamline this monumental effort.

Q: What makes your approach unique?

A: The application is purposefully designed to help organizations monitor their employee populations for COVID-19. Clients are using it to identify employees who need additional monitoring and management – whether they have COVID-19 symptoms, positive test results, potential exposure, or underlying conditions that pose incremental risk. This is not only useful today, but will be increasingly important as employees working at home begin to transition back to on-site employment when it will be critical to bring people back safely and avoid transmission.

Q: Can you give more insights into your solution? How does it work?

A: Channel-19 uses several existing bits of functionality in the Enterprise Health solution that have been combined and fine-tuned for COVID-19 employee monitoring. Key elements include:

  • A COVID-19 surveillance panel that is configured to identify employee populations and generate an email notice at selected intervals.
  • The email sends employees to a portal where they complete an online questionnaire that collects symptoms, exposure information, underlying conditions and consent.
  • Based on submitted employee responses, the solution automatically triggers alerts to personnel responsible for monitoring – identifying those employees who need additional surveillance.
  • Administrators or clinicians responsible for case management can review submitted responses and make determinations including referrals for testing, recommended restrictions and accommodations and return to work authorization.
  • Channel-19 also includes a dashboard that shows monitoring statistics, and reports can also be sent to employees and supervisors.

Channel-19 is web-based and easy to configure and deploy.

Q: What are some of the main objectives for Enterprise Health in 2020 and how do you plan to achieve them?

A: In 2019, we experienced significant growth, including a 96 percent increase in booked recurring revenues.

In 2020, our plan was to achieve similar growth. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has obviously had a serious impact on the economy. While we still expect to grow, our expectations are more modest.

Our main area of focus is on supporting our existing clients. We have experienced zero churn over the last three years, and client retention is one of our most important objectives. As most of our clients are focused on COVID-19 response, we have made rapid innovation of coronavirus functionality a top priority. Along those lines, we are now rolling out telehealth capability so employers can easily conduct video encounters with their employees, and we will continue to work collaboratively with our clients to roll out new capability to support COVID-19 response as this pandemic evolves.

We view Channel-19 as a way to help other organizations manage the COVID-19 outbreak. We are providing this application at a very affordable price-point to cover our costs and keep our people busy, and we anticipate that some organizations who use Channel-19 might elect to upgrade to the full Enterprise Health solution down the road.
