The company is celebrating 20 years in business this year, and we caught up with Chuck Orrico, President and CEO of DYONYX, to learn how they’ve continued to succeed in the IT services space over the last two decades, where they see the IT landscape growing and shifting in the years to come, and how their business will continue to adapt to changing times to meet the needs of their clients.
Q: What’s the best thing about DYONYX that people might not know about?
A: We are a Christian-based company that has some of the best employees a company could ask for! We understand and act on Integrity and doing what is right by our clients.
Q: Tell us something more about your history?
A: DYONYX has evolved over the years to meet the needs of the marketplace. We initially began as an IT Outsourcing and Security Consultancy, but as the cloud market grew, we invested in that space with state-of-the-art infrastructure by industry leaders Cisco and NetApp, and created a flexible set of public, private and cloud offerings that can fit the needs of small to mid-sized business as well as enterprises. We see now that many businesses are moving into the public cloud and we are adjusting again to work with partners like Amazon and Microsoft to provide full migration and support services around their offerings.
Q: How does DYONYX differ from other IT solution providers?
A: DYONYX is celebrating 20 years in business this year, which is like 140 years in dog years for this industry which sees swift and drastic marketing changes from year to year!
What sets DYONYX apart is that we are a Total IT Solutions provider, meaning that we do not simply provide a one-size-fits all solution or just a piece of the puzzle. We’re also leaders in the security compliance space, and were selected to lead the creation and instruction of the original North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards, written to protect our electric utilities companies from attacks.

We specialize in a private, business cloud that is completely secured, and depending on the needs of our clients, we can work with them from day one to assess their current IT environment and Cloud readiness, and help them transition and migrate to the platform that fits their business objectives. In addition, we can ensure that any security regulatory mandates that govern the management and storage of data are adhered to and that data in our Cloud is kept highly available and constantly monitored, updated and secured.
Q: What geographic markets are you focusing on currently?
A: We can serve clients across the United States, South America and Europe, but we are currently focusing on the greater Houston and Austin areas as our headquarters are in Houston. On the federal side of our business, we work with partners and clients out of Washington DC.
