Below is our recent interview with Edison Xu, President & CEO at Weget Group Inc.:

Q: Could you provide our readers with brief introduction to WeGet?

A: Launched in December 2018 – WeGet is a Los Angeles based social e-commerce platform focused on fashion, accessories, makeup, skincare and home décor. The platform employs attractive content, social interaction and influencer recommendations to create a communal shopping experience that helps buyers discover new products suited to their preference. Our APP can be downloaded in both iOS APP Store and Google Play Store.

Q: What makes different from other e-commerce platforms?

A: Users have greater exposure to a variety of curated items by boutique brands and prestige labels. We integrate video, articles and user-generated content so shoppers can engage with products and make informed purchase decisions. Also, users have the option to buy items at standard price or join others in a Group Buy to get a discount. Our promise is to provide a fun, social experience that makes our customers feel like they are part of a community.

Q: What is Group Buy?

A: Group Buy is a special purchasing option on the WeGet platform. The offer motivates users to share items with friends or peers within the WeGet community to get a lower price on a product. Group Buy is a popular feature on our platform because it allows users to have a connection and enjoy the feeling of excitement and happiness when they save on an item they love.

Q: What is the value of Group Buy?

A: From a business perspective, the cost of advertising and marketing are lower because shoppers are using social media to share products directly with others who have similar preferences. The approach we take to viral marketing allows us to offer customers lower costs on high quality items

Q: Can you explain the stores on WeGet?

A: Since our launch in Q4 of last year, we have welcomed many brands to our platform who collectively offer a variety of beauty and skin care products, clothing, handbags, jewelry, accessories and household goods, and more.

Q: What makes shopping on WeGet a unique experience for consumers and store owners?

A: We’re committed to delivering a unique platform that offers an experience like a digital shopping mall. The content and social interaction combined with the UX attracts buyers deeper into the website and encourages them to browse through many interesting items. This method is valuable in the fact that our brand partners amplify exposure to their store while consumers enjoy browsing items that would be otherwise hard to find.

Q: You recently secured $3M in funding from K2VC and BV. Could you tell us something more?

A: We’re excited to have the support from K2VC and BV who provide not only capital but also strategic experience in the e-commerce market. We raised $3 million in Series A rounds to grow our engineering team, accelerate product development and expand marketing activities. We are now working closely with other investors to secure additional funds as we rapidly expand.

Q: What can we expect from WeGet in the future?

A: We’re continuing to evolve and adapt daily to our customers’ needs. We strive to make the experience customized and personal for our users. We hope that WeGet will become a destination for consumers to not only buy special products but also engage with the app anytime, anywhere because they find pleasure in the content and social interactions that happen on WeGet.
