Q: Dalana, could you tell us something more about May Group and your history?

A: May Group is centrally located in Fort Worth, Texas, and has been creating custom signage and innovative visual brand solutions for over 70 years.

Our big break happened when an area oil company approached us to create and produce a changeable pricing system for gasoline retailing. This development led to a nationwide system for all gasoline retailers in the U.S. and many other parts of the world. It also made us the world’s largest manufacturer of aluminum gas price signs, a position we still hold today.

We have since evolved and now there are two divisions to May Group. The e-Commerce/Catalog Division offers mature signage products intelligently designed to lower costs and the Visual Brand Communications Division offers cutting-edge custom solutions that brilliantly illuminate brands.

Q: What advantage does May Group have over its competitors?

A: We understand our customers’ needs and we build products to suit those needs. We have a 140,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility with impressive in-house equipment including laser cutters, routers, and die-cutters. We are a vertically integrated solutions company that manages the process from inception to distribution utilizing a wide array of technical solutions. Our products are high-quality, competitively priced and delivered on time. All our products are made in the U.S.A.

Q: Who is your ideal client and why?

A: Although we certainly don’t want to limit ourselves, we typically work with some of the world’s largest brand owners, fixture and display design houses, and marketing service companies.

Q: What are your plans for next six months?

A: We are taking a new approach to the market in 2017 by updating our own visual branding and focusing on what we do well. We plan to expand our customer base and grow our sales significantly with several new additions to our sales team, a newly designed website that is soon to be unveiled and a completely revamped catalog (eCommerce) division.

Q: What’s the best thing about May Group that people might not know about?

A: While we have an extensive catalog of products through our eCommerce division and produce a wide range of aluminum and embossed aluminum signs (tackers) through our Visual Brand Communications Division, May Group also offers eye-catching illuminated signage such as Artlite® and NeonFree®. We can also create signage using mixed medium, as well as stunning fixtures and displays for retail environments. We have been a Creative Magazine’s Top 50 P.O.P. award winner two years in a row and many of our products have won Gold and Bronze medals through POPAI.
