Ultimately, their goal is to correct the mistake most people make with their resumes…not keeping their resumes up to date. Below is our interview with Jeffrey Brown, Co-founder of MC360:
Q: What’s your startup story? How did MC360 start?
A: There’s a little humor in our story and I’m sure many people can relate to. We were out having a few drinks after pulling a few “all-nighters” when someone in the group started complaining about his job, the hours, his salary, etc. That quickly gained support from others and led to everyone complaining about how dated their resume was, finding the latest version and how to go about creating a more impactful resume. Out of the group, there were three of us paying attention to the complaints and decided to create a solution that would solve these problems.
The three of us started the planning process and built some prototypes, which quickly followed into the development phase and what was needed for phase one.

Q: Who are the primary users of MC360 and what are some of the key challenges you are helping them solve?
A: The primary user of the system is anyone who needs a resume. We offer the full solution, free to anyone who is out of work or still in school. Annual subscriptions are $10.99 for anyone else. The key challenges we help people solve are simple: We provide multiple resume templates to pick from, users can create unlimited number of resumes, it’s cloud based so updating a resume can be done anytime, anywhere from virtually any device. The last thing I would mention is our approach to managing resume content, we do it in a way that makes it really easy for users to maintain and create a resume.
Q: What is unique about MC360 and how does it stand out from competition?
A: There are other systems out there but I think our approach to the problem is unique; we allow users to create multiple versions of the content and when they are ready to create a resume they simply pick the versions they want to include in a resume. We also provide a self-assessment rating system that is included as part of your personal dashboard, including employment history. A lot of people love and hate what they see on their personal dashboard. One user who provided some feedback on this said it was a real “eye-opener” for him. He never gave it much thought about being in the same job that long until he saw the employment pie chart. For him, it really affected his marketability to new employers. These days, companies like diversity.

Q: What are your plans for next 6-9 months?
A: We don’t want to give away anything here but we are working with a number of technology companies to integrate some of their information. Interfacing to job search providers, more metrics to help users see how they rate amongst other users on the system. Additional templates will be added as well.
