Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to SlideGenius?
A: The problem is we’re now living in a screen economy and executives do not have time or the in-house staff to design PowerPoint presentations at the level they need to compete in today’s marketplace. So our solution is to provide their team a fully outsourced, 24×7, on-demand graphic design agency hyper focused on producing the highest level of premium presentations.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your services?
A: As I mentioned previously we’re living in a screen economy and screens are emerging everywhere. From the boardroom to the main stage, screens are getting bigger, more affordable, and more useful. This expansive new use of digital displays in corporations coupled with the screen’s principal purpose of “presenting” is a significant opportunity for us to take PowerPoint to the next level of design. We primarily offer graphic design and storytelling services for Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, Prezi and Google Slides. We also offer copywriting, print, video, web, and brochure design services.

Q: Who is your ideal client and why?
A: From startups to the Fortune 500 we’ve helped over 3,000 global clients tell their story… better. Over 70% of our client base resides within the marketing department and the c-suite of larger organizations. Some of our larger clients include Delta Airlines, MetLife, JP Morgan, Toyota and many more.
Q: What’s the best thing about SlideGenius that people might not know about?
A: SlideGenius is an accidental business… I had a SaaS software company that I started in early 2006 and by 2008 I needed to raise additional capital to scale. As most of us recall, 2008 was probably the worst time in the past 30 years for trying to raise money and I had over 100 rejections from venture capitalists but I kept hearing what a great presentation I delivered. It was in one of those meetings in San Francisco when it ended differently with one VC saying “Rick, every time you come to visit us, your presentations are always pretty unique. If this software thing doesn’t work out, you should open a presentation agency”. At the time, I was dedicated to the pursuit of success for my fledgling software company, so I was wary of any distraction. However, I registered SlideGenius.com in August of 2008. For several years designing presentations at SlideGenius was simply a side hustle while I pursued other software and marketing deals. It wasn’t until 2012 that I decided to take it seriously and focus on building SlideGenius. Today, we have over 100 employees and three offices.

Q: What can we expect from SlideGenius in next 12 months?
A: My father is a serial entrepreneur and always told me “It’s all about the people.” So we’re going to continue to invest back in our people and offer opportunities to grow within the organization. We plan on opening two additional offices including one in Europe since 18% of our business is currently international. Our goal is to hire an additional 50 people by the end of 2020. We also are investing in other visual storytelling mediums and plan to slowly offer additional marketing services to our existing client base.
