Q: What’s the best thing about Oculus VisionTech that people might not know about?
A: First thing that comes to my mind is OVT’s people, the core team’s spirit and commitment to excellence. Our core team is made of senior, proven business and technology professionals, truly believes in the company’s technology and mission. OVT is committed to introducing its DPS – Document Protection System technology as a “game changer” in today’s internet-centric cyber document security market.
Q: What’s Oculus’s story?
A: To better understand our technology today and the positioning in the market, it is important to understand that OVT’s roots are historically in the video/image processing. Our technology evolved from developing and patenting the world’s first Video-on-Demand (VOD) technology, followed by taking a leading position in the movies anti-piracy technology industry, bringing us to today’s cyber document/photo protection technology.
Our MediaEscort software product, a real-time watermarking algorithm/software, created and embedded into movie content was resilient to dozens of simulated piracy attacks test cases (suggested by the MPAA). This real time image processing watermarking software was successfully implemented into a cloud-based proprietary streaming video software product, owned by one of top three largest Hollywood studios, the 20th Century FOX. For six years our MediaEscort software was protecting one of FOX’s most valuable assets, the Oscar nominated titles.
Based on accumulated in-house knowledge in video/image processing, OVT is currently opening another large market – the cyber document/photo protection/security. Q: How did Oculus start?
A: Oculus story started unfolding back in the 1994 when the OVT’s predecessor successfully developed, patented and demonstrated the industry first VOD product. Back in those days VOD was more a scientific achievement than a commercial product for larger audience. Although the hardware requirements were cost prohibitive for any significant commercialization, the VOD technology included very efficient video/image compression.
Q: What makes The Oculus Cloud-DPS unique in the market?
A: We believe that a document protection/security by its encryption only cannot provide an efficient protection and successfully “lock up” the document. We have developed another layer of document security, an active document “monitoring agent” by inserting set of different computer/machine vision algorithms into text-and/or image/photo based documents.
We are amalgamating the traditional document protection with an active document “understanding” algorithm.
Q: Could you explain the function and advantages of your Cloud-DPS technology?
A: The DPS system software architecture is scalable both vertically and horizontally, cloud based and accessible via web service from wireline and wireless smart devices. The web service strategy implies a very minimal work on interfacing the DPS with different users and respective infrastructure.
DPS can confirm the document’s authenticity, and is capable of identifying any tampering attempt. In a case of an intrusion (accidental, malicious) into the previously DPS-protected document, the system will refuse to authenticate the document and as a proof of forging will highlight a forging spot (or many affected spots) on the document.
DPS watermarking technology is developed to reach a major objective – completely invariant to different image/document compression techniques, which inherently eliminates number of false positive returns (false report of a document’s change attempt), introduced by “natural” artifacts, the image compression side effects. This is only possible to achieve if the algorithm “understands” the document’s content.

Q: What can we expect from you in next six months?
A: The DPS technology has already been field tested in the legal document market (text based PDF, of converted into PDF format), with very positive initial feedback – no crashes, no false positive/negative cases.
OVT’s business and technology development teams are focused on completing the development of its own stand-alone software product targeting online cyber document security services. OVT plans to make significant investment in the global branding – name recognition. Our objective is to promote the online document DPSing as the industry safest and easiest to use, and gain international customers confidence. The online doc security service is projected to become a major OVT’s revenue source in the 2017 and beyond, after the ramp up period we are entering as we speak.

Q: What are your plans?
A: OVT’s business development strategy is based on bringing to internet-centric market the proprietary cyber documents/photographs security, easily accessible from any wired (laptop, desktop) and/or wireless smart devices.
The company is set to expand and is already entering into business discussions with various potential clients in their respective vertical markets. Businesses are ready to invest in protecting their assets (high value documents) by applying the latest cyber documents security technologies. We are particularly excited to further exploring the opportunity to start actively integrating our online document/photographs security technology in the social media leader’s system.
Simply, we expect to grow into a true leader – a globally relevant Company in the online document/data security industry.
