Sigasi Offers A Boost In Design And Verification Productivity By Helping To Write, Inspect And Modify Digital Circuit Designs

Listen to this article

Below is our recent interview with Bart Brosens, Application Engineer at Sigasi:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Sigasi offers a boost in design and verification productivity by helping to write, inspect and modify digital circuit designs in the most intuitive way.

Whether developing in VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog or a mix of these languages, Sigasi tools understand the entire context of your projects. Advanced features such as intelligent autocomplete, code refactoring and automatic documentation will make your development easier, more efficient and much faster. Sigasi integrates with several FPGA and ASIC toolchains from Cadence, Altera, Xilinx, Siemens (Mentor Graphics), OneSpin and Aldec.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Without open source (software) projects like Eclipse, there would be no Sigasi Studio. Since Sigasi targets hardware development, we also want to empower designers working on open source hardware projects. We want to make the adoption of Sigasi Studio easier so that open source projects can improve faster. Therefore we offer free licenses for our flagship product to individual contributors of publicly available hardware projects that are and licensed under an open-source license.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: Some of our commercial users contacted us because they wish to use Sigasi Studio at home for their hobby projects. Our new Open Source Program offers them a way to use our flagship product – and their professionally trusted tool – also on their hobby projects. In addition, we hope to reach open source contributors who are not familiar yet with our products so they too can find out how our products can benefit their projects. Since most open source projects are driven by volunteers without budget for tooling, we think our free offering makes sense for these projects.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Sigasi continues to invest in the development of new platforms, features and improvements to remain the leading EDA software provider making the work of digital chip design and verification engineers more efficient and focused. Keep an eye on our news channel for more announcements within the next 6 months.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: While we’re a geographically diverse team, our headquarter is located in the city of Ghent in Belgium. The city is a major tourist attraction with well preserved medieval architecture and lots of good restaurants.
