Q: As a female CEO in IT, what can be done to continue to encourage women to join tech-driven industries?
A: “Helping women at an early age discover their passions for STEM careers is paramount. As a board member of PINK SPACE Theory, we help girls ages 6-18 develop the skills they need to feel empowered, motivated, and encouraged to enter any information technology field. As a company, cultivating a supportive work environment for women and all families has made a dynamic shift in the influx of female leaders in our industry. Creating a supportive and enriching corporate culture has been one of my focal points, and we are seeing excellent results in ACI’s team member dynamic.”
Q: What inspired you to pursue a leadership role?
A: “As a female executive and IT professional who immigrated to the United States from Somalia, a true leadership position has always been a goal of mine. As my career progressed, the importance of having representation at the executive level was apparent, and I am proud of the work ACI does to bring more inclusivity into this space.”

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: “ACI Solutions has been supporting the mission of DHS/TSA for over 22 years. This is the longest-running partnership for a small business since the inception of DHS/TSA.”
