Booth – Smarter Business Phone Communication

Below is our interview with Josh Christy, Founder of Booth:


Q: Josh, what is Booth and how does it work?

A: Booth is a small business phone system that helps you communicate smarter with your customers using phones you already own and software you already use.

As small business owners our employees need to communicate with customers and vendors without being tied to a specific location or device. As owners we want to make sure that we are in control of that conversation.

At booth we have identified 2 primary problems, first: traditional phone systems are expensive, complex, not flexible and require ongoing technical support. Second: Using personal cell phones as your main business number is un-professional doesn’t keep the company in control of the conversation.

We’ve solved these problems by allowing you to use your cell phone to run your business by creating call rules to route the calls where and when you want them. For example during business hours you can set an auto attendant greeting (press 1 for this, 2 for that) and have your personal extension forwarded directly to your cell phone and show that it is a work call. You can also call out through your Booth number to mask your calls as a business call. If an employee needs to be removed from the system you simply log in to your account and change the extension or forwarding number. The company is in complete control of the communication.

Booth also integrates with software you already use like Google Calendar to route calls to your cell phone when you are available and to voicemail or a colleague when you are busy.

Q: Could you tell us more about your pricing plans?

A: We are simply priced at $25/mo for a local number, and $50/mo for a toll free number. This includes all of your team at the office and any phones they are currently using. Q: Do you have any new features in the pipeline?

A: We are looking to grow our integrations platform to include more software tools that our customers are already using. Sales tools like a CRM (Customer relationship management) would allow us to route the call directly to the sales person in charge of that client. Or record and transcribe a call and save it for future use.

We’d also like to move into a soft-phone integration so you could use an app on your iPhone or Mac to make and receive calls. Ultimately we want our customers to tell us what is of value to them and build that functionality out.

Q: Which industries tend to benefit from Booth?

A: Booth is used in many sectors such as: Real estate investors, property management companies, direct sales teams, retail establishments, and service consultancies.
