Below is our recent interview with Jim Walker, CEO at CloudHesive:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to CloudHesive?

A: CloudHesive is a cloud solution consulting and managed services provider with a focus on security, reliability, availability and scalability. Our team of experienced cloud engineers help clients reduce their operating costs and increase productivity while improving their cloud security posture by migrating and securing mission-critical workloads on to Amazon Web Service (AWS) and other cloud partners such as Microsoft Azure.

As an AWS Advanced Consulting and a Managed Services Partner, we are part of an elite group that works directly with the Amazon Web Services team. With our cloud-centric security solutions, controls and innovative management platform, we leverage next-generation DevOps automation to increase scalability, making us stand out from other managed service providers.

We partner with the leading cloud providers and security companies to build highly secured, scalable and robust cloud solutions. CloudHesive engineers’ architect and manage environments to meet stringent uptime SLAs. CloudHesive also offers proprietary SaaS tools such as Centricity to help their customers gain the benefits of the AWS services without having to build a team of cloud experts. Centricity has several modules that include features that focus on Media/Streaming, Virtual Workspaces, and Contact Center management all of which leverage AWS services.

Q: Can you give us insights into your services?

A: CloudHesive’s managed services are designed to assist our customers at every stage of cloud adoption. This includes everything from building out their cloud strategy, implementing their Cloud Center of Excellence, to securing and managing global cloud ecosystems. With the launch of Amazon Workspace and Connect, we have also seen a tremendous amount of interest in helping customers especially in the south eastern market to migrate away from their on-premise contact center technology to a more secure and robust virtual desktop and contact center solution on Amazon.

Q: You’ve recently been announced as one of the 2018 Florida companies to watch; could you tell us something more?

A: In 2018, we focused on increasing our marketing and sales footprint to include having more brand awareness and overall presence in specific markets such as Tampa, Orlando, South Florida, Texas, Southeast US, Mid-Atlantic US and LATAM. With that said, our marketing efforts have been and still are aimed on making CloudHesive the go to AWS partner and industry leader for cloud centric solutions as a managed service provider.

In addition to our services, CloudHesive is dedicated on making cloud services easier to adopt and use for our customers. We have built a SaaS tool that brings the power of the AWS services to our customers without having to implement a large team of engineers or developers. Our Centricity platform works across several AWS services which include Amazon Elemental, Amazon Connect, and Workspaces. We have filled the usability gaps with AWS by providing an easy to use interface and
integrations to other 3 rd party products to help our customers get the benefits of cloud services faster.

Q: Why the need for security as a service is rapidly growing?

A: As companies become more distributed and cybercriminals evolve, security continues to be a major concern. While some companies have their own in-house cyber-security personnel, more and more companies are looking to Security as a Service as a way to safeguard their assets without the massive financial requirement of handling it all in-house.

Cybercrimes are not going away any time soon. And you’re mistaken if you think that small to medium-sized business aren’t as vulnerable to cyber-attacks. It’s becoming very clear that companies need to be doing more in the face of growing security concerns and finding cybersecurity talent is extremely difficult. With the need for cybersecurity personnel on the rise, compensation packages for these individuals will also swell, increasing expense for companies that continue to manage their efforts in-house. And one way that organizations are meeting the challenge is by looking to managed Security as a Service providers to help.

Q: What does the future hold? Where is the company headed?

A: An exciting part of our business that has been gaining a lot of momentum is our home-grown platform, Centricity. Centricity is a platform that has a core management layer and then has modules that plug into the framework we’ve build. We view Centricity as a key solution to help us grow our business and provide customers with a seamless AWS solution that fills some of the operational gaps in the AWS service offering.

Centricity will be offered to all AWS clients not only CloudHesive’s clients. Centricity is a solution for VDI and Contact Center management on top of AWS services. This will make it much easier for companies to leverage AWS services without having to internally build complex solutions to drive adoption into their organizations. The entire platform is built on top of AWS and is focused on leveraging their services. There are 3 modules in Centricity each of which focus on three separate functional areas:

• Media Box: Media module for Centricity that will leverage the Amazon Elemental services.
• Secured Workspaces: End User Computing module that will combines Liquidware and Workspaces to provide an end to end solution across multiple accounts in one platform.
• Customer Connect: Contact center system that pulls together the reporting and functionality of the Amazon Connect platform into one system.

Q: What would you say to companies looking to solve their security needs?

A: With little downside and a huge upside – including scalability, affordability, and expertise – it may be time to look at whether hiring a managed security as a service makes sense for your company.
