D’Amore Personal Injury Law Launches A New Serious Injury Information Center

Listen to this article

The lawyers at D’Amore Personal Injury Law have years of experience representing people wrongfully injured by the negligence of others. Many of the firm’s lawyers have also represented big hospitals, doctors, and insurance companies. The firm currently represents people who have suffered life changing injuries from car accidents, birth injury, fires, industrial accidents, and premises liability and medical malpractice. Below is our interview with Paul D’Amore, the Founding Member and one of the trial lawyers at D’Amore Personal Injury Law:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to D’Amore Personal Injury Law?

A: I started D’Amore Personal Injury Law in 2015. After almost 20 years of successful practice, I wanted to create a medical malpractice and personal injury law firm that focused on the real-life needs of people who had been catastrophically injured by the negligence of others. I wanted the focus to be on the clients, not how much money the lawyers or the law firm could make. I had seen too much greed in our profession and not enough compassion.

The idea that there needed to be a shift in my perspective began in 2010, when I was accepted to Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College. Gerry is a living legend in the fight for truth, justice and positive social change. My time at the College gave me an insight and perspective on my life, and taught me the real skill set I needed to be a trial lawyer. I also learned that understanding the true impact of an injustice requires us to know our clients at an extremely personal level. It requires us to peel away the layers of their lives, and investigate all the ways their humanity has been shaped by their past experiences. Only then can we understand the global impact the injustice has had on their bodies, their lives, and their families.

Every member of the Firm practices with this philosophy. If you work here, you are expected to check your ego at the door. It is not about you. It is not about “winning” for the sake of saying “I won.” It is about doing what is best for the people we are here to help.

Q: You’ve recently launched a new Serious Injury Center; tell us something more?

A: We get numerous calls from people who think they need our help in the legal arena, but who really just need information about how to solve a discreet, specific problem stemming from a medical condition, injury or disability. These are people who just need some resources, and who just don’t know where to look. We found ourselves giving valuable insights and information to people and realized we needed to share this information more efficiently. The Serious Injury Resource Center is our way of accomplishing that goal.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your practice areas?

A: We focus our practice on wrongful death and catastrophic injuries due to third-party negligence. As a result, our cases involve car accidents, medical malpractice, birth injury, industrial accidents, fires, unsafe land, and unsafe buildings/residences. In the death cases, the decedent was usually the “bread winner” or the primary financial support for the family. The other cases involve children or adults facing a lifetime of medical care, therapy, lost wages, and costs of living due to their injuries.

Q: What are your plans for next six months?

A: In the next six months we will be expanding the Serious Injury Resource Center. We will make it a more robust and user friendly experience for people seeking advice and information on living with and overcoming life changing injuries. We also plan to launch a Personal Injury Law Center to help inform people about negligence law, and current legislation affecting the rights of injured people in Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Q: What’s the best thing about D’Amore Personal Injury Law that people might not know about?

A: How gratifying it is to work here. Although we deal with tragedy, we know we are all in this to make a difference. We take great pride in our work. We experience joy from helping our clients and their families. We do that as a team; never forgetting that none of us could do it without the others. This translates into smiling faces and a positive energy that reverberates through the office every day.
