Technology Always Makes A Good Present
If past history is any indication technology makes a good present. No, a great present. Through the ages things like tape recorders, hand held games, gaming consoles, personal computers, iPods, tablets and phones have all proven to be popular. Considering the expected growth of the IoT it is safe to assume that technology will continue to be a popular gift long into the future.
The estimates vary but it is generally assumed there will be more than 50 million connected devices within the next 3 to 8 years. That’s more than 6 devices per person, assuming future expected growth, and ample opportunity for gift giving. Add to this the need for constant upgrading, enhancing and product evolution and the chances for giving technology for Christmas grows exponentially.
The Grinch of the matter is that technology, especially today, isn’t necessarily the great gift it seems. Each new device, software application or subscription service is an avenue for malware, hacking, loss of ID, financial loss and worse.
There are numerous well-documented cases of the Internet, the life fore of today’s technology, being used to commit heinous crimes. It’s shocking, I know it’s not what you want to think about right now but it’s the truth and needs to be said.

This isn’t to say that you can get 100% protection but it does provide a far greater level than without and there are other advantages. By connection to a VPN in a country like say, the USA, you can bypass geo-restrictions and watch any Internet based streaming content you want.
