Q: You’ve recently announced inaugural summit on cyber security; could you tell us something more?
A: Our inaugural Panda Security Summit will be held in Madrid, May 18th and expecting more than 500 attendees; this conference is a not-to-be-missed event for all cybersecurity professionals. The one-day conference comprises five different talks, six speakers and 10 workshops where keynote speakers will discuss the latest in threats and protection as well as the overall state of cybersecurity.
At the talks, Gartner will give its independent analysis, and the attendees will learn about cyber-resilience strategies employed by governments, large businesses and SOCs.
In addition to the guest speakers, PandaLabs, Panda Security’s anti-malware lab, will present a new report with its predictions on cybersecurity, an analysis of the main trends and practical examples of corporate IT security scenarios.
Following the speaking session, attendees will get first-hand experience in various workshops and demo booths on how to make their organizations cyber-resilient with the latest visionary products and services from Panda Security.

Q: How Panda technology works?
A: Panda Security delivers an innovative cyber-security service named Adaptive Defense, that classifies and analyzes 100% of all the running applications on your devices, regardless of whether they are known or yet unknown. This advanced system is based on the principles of AI and Big Data in order to monitor, classify and analyze all running processes. This ensures proactive detection of abnormal behavior and advanced threats, from ransomware or malicious cryptomining to zero-day attacks, while providing features for response and remediation.
Q: What makes Panda different compared to traditional antivirus solutions?
A: Traditional antivirus solutions are essentially out of step with the current complex reality of malware, since they essentially only take action if a process is already known to be malicious. Our Adaptive Defense technology, in turn, classifies absolutely everything. Monitoring its execution and behavior when it’s harmless, and stopping its execution when it’s malicious.
This represents a new concept built on the basis of application behavior, not on previous classification like it was up until now.
Additionally, an antivirus solution means a certain level of work for the administrator – management of the quarantine, dealing with false positives, etc. On the other hand, Adaptive Defense is a managed service, which means these types of tasks are taken care of automatically by Panda.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: We keep working on delivering perfected cloud-based tools to cover corporate IT protection, control and management needs. The integration of all these technologies under a single management platform will allow us building a consolidated offer around a broad feature set in modular format, that is, one that can be combined by customers to cover their specific demands.
Additionally, personal data management and control is another strategic axis of Panda Security’s evolution. New data protection regulations encompass very specific needs to be addressed, for which Panda Data Control is our technological approach.
