Regan McGee, The Founder and CEO of Nobul Talks About the Techie Real Estate Revolution

Listen to this article

Below is our recent interview with Regan McGee, Founder and CEO of Nobul:

Q: Can you please provide a brief overview of Nobul?

A: The nucleus of the company is all about transparency and empowerment for homebuyers. Nobul is a digital marketplace that connects homebuyers and home sellers to the real estate agents that are right for them. Our platform enables buyers, and sellers to openly see the transaction histories, pricing, reviews and services of real estate agents. Agents can then actively compete for the prospective buyers’ business.

Purchasing a home is one of the biggest decisions that many people will make in their lives. Shopping for the right home is not one-size-fits-all, it is personal, and we aim to facilitate homebuyers’ ability to choose the agent best suited to their needs, and support them end-to-end throughout their real estate journey.

Q: Nobul’s platform is often described as disruptive – how so? What are some of the features you bring to the table for the real estate industry? Why should brokers and agents choose to use Nobul?

A: Nobul brings choice, accountability and transparency to an industry that has – for decades – been widely regarded by homebuyers as opaque and challenging. Anytime you bring innovative technology to the table that can make the process easier, it will be viewed as disruptive. Incidentally, technological advancements are beginning to gain real traction in a stalwart industry that was initially skeptical.

Q: How did you come up with your company name when you launched in 2017?

A: I came up with the word because it refers to two core company values: the “noble” goal of bringing transparency and accountability to the real estate market, and the other is that there is no room for “B.S.” on our platform. Prospective home buyers are armed with real, valuable information when they use our platform. They can ensure they have found a solid real estate agent whose work is in-line with their values.

Q: What are some milestones that you have hit with Nobul? As real estate transactions skyrocket across North America, are you seeing an impact?

A: Still being here is a milestone in itself. Most companies struggle the first two years. We launched in 2017 and are still striving to make purchasing real estate as easy and painless as possible for customers. That is a beautiful thing.

Yes, we are seeing a huge increase in the use of our platform as we are witnessing industry-wide acceptance of new technologies. Prospective homebuyers are also looking for a competitive advantage in finding their dream homes – finding the right agent is an essential part of that.

Q: How will real estate transactions change in the next 10-20 years?

A: We will see further use of technology like drones and virtual tours, and AI-supported bots that will help pre-qualify buyers. I see technological advancements like Nobul and in other areas as being tools for real estate agents. I don’t think agents will ever be replaced by technology, which is a concern for some in the industry. Buyers will continue to want big, personal decisions to be facilitated by professional, knowledgeable and most importantly effective agents.

Q: What are Nobul’s plans for the future?

A: We will continue to strive and thrive – that’s the plan. A key element for any business venture is the ability to fulfill a need – we do that. We truly help people – and we have every intention of continuing on that path. The future is bright.
