Q: Can you tell us something more about what National REIA is?
A: The National Real Estate Investors Association is a 501 (c) 6 trade association. We are a federation made up of local associations or investment clubs throughout the United States. We represent local investor associations, property owner associations, apartment associations, and landlord associations on a national scale. Together we represent the interests of approximately 40,000 members across the U.S.

Recommended: Q: Ryan, you’ve recently became the youngest-ever president of the NREIA; could you tell us something more?
A: At my local Chapter, BREIA, we became a member of NREIA to benefit our members. We soon realized the benefit it was for us as REIA owners to learn how to better run our REIA. I have been an active board member of NREIA since 2017. As a board member, it was my roll to support NREIA in serving our Chapters across the U.S. NREIA has I am proud and honored to be nominated as the new President.
Q: Can you tell us something more about your background?
A: I have been an entrepreneur since I was 19 years old. After graduating Ohio State University in 1996, I relocated to Miami Beach and built a music studio. After a few years of being a professional producer, I had several contracts fall through and couldn’t afford to continue running the studio. So I had to close the doors. I was one of the original founders of CIAO Imports, importing pasta from Emilia Romagna Italy. After about 6 years in the Import business, I decided to concentrate on Real Estate. Real Estate is where I have been now for the past 20 years.
Q: How did you get to where you are today?
A: My journey in Real Estate started with my current business partner and friend talking me into becoming a Real Estate investor about 20 years ago. In the beginning, I also became a licensed agent. It just seemed at the time to be the natural progression. In 2004 we started the Urban Life Design Group. ULDG was created to serve families of low income to assist them in homeownership opportunities. Unfortunately, like many investors, we had to close the doors and we both lost everything in the crash of 2008. After picking myself up again, I joined the Broward Real Estate Investors Association and became the top student in their mentor program for Real Estate Investing. In 2012 the owners of BREIA asked me to re-design that program. Since that time, I have not only become the owner of BREIA and acting President, but now run one of the top Real Estate Investing programs in the entire country. My life is dedicated to making other people become successful and find joy in Real Estate Investing.

Q: What are the benefits of becoming a member of National REIA?
A: Because we have a 40,000 plus membership across the United States, NREIA has bargaining power with large boxcar retailers like Home Depot and Office Depot. So the individual members of each REIA, and members of NREIA all benefit collectively from major discounts and cash back rebate programs.
Q: What are the company’s plans and goals for the future?
A: This year we are expanding the Home Depot programs. This is the most important rebate program and is the largest National discount program with Home Depot in the U.S. In addition to the program expansion with HD, NREIA is also creating new programs to continue to build on member benefits.
