Happeo Combines A Digital Workplace And Collaboration Platform With A Social Intranet

Listen to this article

Below is our recent interview with Jonathan Davies, Internal Communication Journalist at Happeo:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Happeo?

A: Happeo combines a digital workplace and collaboration platform with a social intranet. By unifying a company’s digital toolset into one integrated ecosystem, it minimizes distraction and breaks down information silos. Large enterprises and growing organizations like BMW, Givaudan and Randstad Sourceright use Happeo to revolutionize their Internal Communications, leading to a more engaged and productive workforce.

In 2017, Happeo was recognized as one of Europe’s most promising startups by the European Union. In 2019, The Next Web and Adyen named Happeo one of Europe’s hottest scale-ups. Happeo continues to grow 280% year on year.

Q: Can you give us insights into your product? How does it work?

A: Happeo unifies a digital workplace and collaboration platform into a social intranet. We’ll skip the buzzwords and keep it simple: it’s your company‘s forever-homepage – the only browser tab you need for your digital tools. Employees connect by posting in channels and collaborate through deep integrations with G Suite and Slack. No need to open a tab for Google Docs, you can stay in Happeo and work on that big proposal, fancy slide deck or spreadsheet. It’s fully responsive and has a mobile app, so it makes your workforce independent of location and device.

Q: What is an intranet and why is it useful for businesses?

A: Intranets today still live under the misconception that they’re clunky, old, and not engaging. We can’t blame people for thinking that way – it’s a product space that’s seen little-to-no innovation for a long time. Look at how brands have changed since the rise of social; engaging with their target audience is so much easier than ever before. And what about websites? Everyone can have their own thanks to intuitive builders – it’s no longer just for web developers. And what if you’re not at home, but you want to order a package from Amazon? No worries, it’s just as easy on your phone.

The way we interact with software has changed dramatically. The way an intranet works has not. That’s why we made Happeo – we wanted to give companies the same type of engagement-revolution through our social features. We wanted to give Internal Communications the freedom to make their own pages, freeing IT resources. We wanted it to be independent of location and device. Most of all, we wanted it to be a platform that people love using. That means communication and collaboration come together, through our deep integration with G Suite. The result? Something that Enterprise Social Networks alone have failed to achieve – productivity. Our customers helped us identify several areas where a social intranet helps, namely:

●Happier, more engaged employees
●A positive effect on employee retention
●Less internal emails
●Less time spent searching for tools and company information
●More consistency across offices and locations
●Elimination of shadow IT; Happeo becomes the place from which you run your most-used work applications
●Increase in collaboration and sharing across the business

Q: What’s the best thing about Happeo that people might not know about?

A: The enterprise search. McKinsey stated that on average, an employee spends 9.3 hours a week searching for information. By organizing your communication and work through Happeo, and through it’s deep integration with Google Drive, you’ll never lose sight of information or files again.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: World domination through total integration :) We want Happeo to be the platform that bridges all information silos together, eliminating them entirely by bringing a company’s entire digital toolset under one umbrella.
