Q: What is the Aventus Protocol?
A: Aventus is building the global open standard for the the exchange of tickets using the blockchain. Aventus’ innovations vastly improve upon existing solutions by bringing oversight and transparency to the ticketing lifecycle, security to the transfer and validity of tickets, new revenue streams for event organisers and greater promotional capabilities.
The platform eliminates uncontrolled resale and counterfeit tickets. It allows event organisers to create, manage and promote their events and tickets with dramatically reduced costs, even letting them set price controls and receive commissions on ticket resales. It also gives ticket buyers rewards for promoting events, and identifying fraudulent activity.
Q: How did the idea for Aventus come along?
A: Having previously run a small event start up together and off the back of Alan’s masters thesis in blockchain based film rights, Alan and Annika started researching the music industry in detail wanting to deal with online streaming rights to help artists get their fair share of revenue from streaming, exactly like MediaChain. We noticed the scale of problems artists face when it comes to ticketing and what a perfect fit the blockchain. That is how we started down this road.

Q: Who benefits most from the Aventus system?
A: Event creators/organisers benefit the most. With Aventus they will be able to reach a wider audience by plugging into our network of promoters, selling out to real fans faster and reducing unsold ticket inventory. All of this will be much more secure as was previously possible. Unregulated touting is gone, which event organisers setting minimum and maximum price caps as well as gaining commissions on sales. Counterfeits are completely eliminated removing the negative backlash this generates and event organisers will have greater oversight thanks to the transparency of the blockchain.
Q: From the ticket buyer perspective, what advantages/changes does Aventus bring?
A: Ticket buyers will not have to compete with as many automated computer programs buying tickets to popular events and can avoid extortionate prices on tickets in secondary markets. Any ticket bought through the Aventus protocol is guaranteed to not be a counterfeit so never again will a ticket buyer be disappointed when their ticket turns out to be a fake. It will also be much easier to see which ticketing platforms make sales for various events and if the seller is a primary or secondary market and what kind of track record it has for scamming its user base.
Q: What is the Aventus token and what will it be used for?
A: The Aventus token AventCoin (AVT) is the fuel of the global open standard for the exchange of tickets. It is used to incentivise network participants to identify fraudulent activity in the system, vote on changes to the protocol and to match buyers with sellers in secondary markets in a secure way enforcing the rules of the system to ensure touts cannot abuse it. Tickets to events can also be bought in AVT as well as certain other crypto-currencies including ETH.
Q: The Aventus token will be distributed through a crowdfunding campaign. What goals have been set for this ICO and how will the funds be used?

Q: Why use Ethereum and not another platform?
A: Ethereum is the most mature and sizeable (therefore secure) smart contracting blockchain available. It has been tried and tested by many for ICOs and is gaining traction consistently.
Q: When can we expect the Aventus Protocol to be officially released?
A: An alpha release will be available early in July for the public to use. An MVP is mostly complete and will be privately tested at multiple events throughout 2017 with a public beta expected towards the end of the year which will feature many more events. The production grade product is expected in Q2 2018.
